Firstly, @jared3000, I believe they've called it Velocity because it's speed in the flat horizontal direction, which is why pointing your plane towards the floor actually slows you down, when Gravity would dictate an acceleration (in the real world of 9.81m/s, but who can ever tell with these games ;P)
Secondly, I don't know why this game is addictive, but it is, and I love it :D. I also love the homage to all the other various games of a similar nature with the Mysterious Upgrade. All in all, a fun game :D
