In survival mode, you should use as many uppercut's and the side swipes as possible, because not only do they throw your opponent up in the air, they immobilize him too. If you uppercut (or that upper-kick thing) you can double jump and hit them again. Whenever the opponent is near the edge of the stage, just uppercut him off. Your opponent is immobilized from the uppercut so he can't move in the air to try to do a side swipe or a double jump, he just falls to his doom. Also, it is REALLY useful to get those immobilizing weapons, like the gladiator net, the taser, the freeze gun, and the rat trap. They allow you to wind-up your punch all the way and then realease it, guaranteeing a 1-hit KO. Finally, for all of us, there are weapons we are just no good with. Like for me, I cannot use the anvil at all, nor the fish. So I just run up to the holes at the edges of the stage and press d. The weapon is thrown away and my opponent can't use it.
@rrraaattt: you can configure the controls. Just go to options in the main menu. At the bottom is the configuration. You can also do this in the middle of a game. Just pause the game with space and go to potions, and the same configuration part shows up at the bottom.
I finished the game twice before. Now that I come back to it with badges and replay chaos tower, it won't give me the badge. By the way, this is an awesome game, 5/5 and favorited.
I love this game. I come back and play it every once in a while, too. And now I see why Frantic mode is just not recommended. There were so many bullets on the screen that I couldn't even see that mini-boss. Even if I tried to shift my eyes toward the top of the screen, I would be in danger of being hit by 15 bullets simultaneously. Good job with what you've done here, polymerrabbit. 5/5 and favorited.
Kyrator is right. I have tried Bombing run about 10 times now. The bombs always seem to target me at my weakest point. Or they always seem to manage to hit every single one of my pixels. Or they will only hit the units at the top. The bombs are the worst thing about this game. Still, 5/5.
oh my god... My 400 something army (with about 50 recruits arriving every 20 something seconds) just got beaten by about 40 units... I am speechless and will never underestimate catapults, and trebuchets again.
You ought to team up with the maker of steambirds. You could teach him stuff, like variety, That was the biggest issue in Steambirds: I had only one plane to play with, none others. But now my prayers have been answered.
@wreckgar: those are clutters. You're being bogged down and should shake your mouse in circles quickly to shake those clutter babies off. I think you may have alrady quit the game or found it out, but this is just in case it happens again. Or you can equip the hazard suit, which protects against clutters.
By the way, the sequel to this is Final Ninja Zero. It can be found on nitrome.com. And I totally agree with ninja132009, these classic, pixel-perfect nitrome games should so get badges.
I have played this game three times, beating it. I keep coming back because of it's awesome music.
And my favorite part of the game is when Takeshi is in one of the levels with a dialogue box. (I think it was level 16?) He says something about the gardens reminding him of home. Then he says something along the lines of,"After this is done, I must go home and meditate. And feed my majestic and beautiful carp. I miss my carp."
