For getting A rank alone - This of course differs for every person and their style of play, but if I were to recommend a level I would suggest level 29. I can't even get close to an A on any other level, but on this one I best the time by 7 seconds. This is because the second the level starts, you can start controlling both characters constantly eg. you make them both jump at the same time. The only time where you need to pause slightly is when they go up the slope, to get them together again. The most important thing is to not think -- just react! When you see them near an edge, don't think 'jump' just hop hop hop. Keep doing that until you get all the gems by chance. If you're lucky, you'll pick them all up, if not, then it's reaction practise for when you do get lucky. Don't -try- to get the gems, it will slow your reactions down. Just let it flow. Hope this helps, if not, I've noticed others suggesting levels such as 22. Whatever you beat it on, good luck! :)
I'm really enjoying it so far, but the main bad thing that stands out to me already is the HUGE 'coolgamesbox' logo. I know it's common to have these logos and most of the time it's fine, but C'MON! It's HUGE! At least half its size and move it to a different corner/place it on another menu such as the pause, or give some kind of incentive such as 'If you visit the site, then you won't see this logo any more' I'm fairly easy going with things like that but this one really detracts from visuals and gameplay flow.
thx, I am glad you enjoy the game. On (your) popular demand the "coolgamesbox" logo was reduced in size for version 1.27 (I just uploaded it). I hope this solution is at least "ok" for you, please let me know.
I really enjoyed it, but I'm quite annoyed that it sets everything back to 0 (including medals) once you've beaten the game. Yes it's registered my highscore, but if this game gets badges and there's one for completing the game, I now have no way to prove that I've done so. I really don't want to go through all that again anytime soon. I hope that there's something not immediately obvious that is keeping track...
To turn the sounds off, click the purple book icon on the actions panel. (It's under the red question mark) Then click the toggle sounds button (it's the bottom right icon, think it's a picture of a silver horn) To equip items click them once, then scroll over the top three inventory slots (these are your equips slots) to check that you're wearing them.
Just wanted to say a big thankyou for releasing a version here, with all the levels unlocked. I felt a bit 'meh' after completing the first one as I wanted more, so seeing this version was great.
I completely understand your need for putting adverts -- you are giving this to us for free, afterall! If they annoyed me during gameplay or distracted me, you would have lost a star. Considering that they are small adverts that don't affect gameplay, you get 5/5 for generosity and the game itself. I like to pop back to it occasionally to relax, it doesn't all have to be done in one go. Asking me to donate and then leaving me to my game is far more likely to get you a donation than forcing me to pay. When I've finished this, I may just consider doing so :) Developers need to eat, after all.
Very fun, but it's a bit short. Unlocking hard mode did give it a little more replay value, though :) I love the graphics, particularly the jesters. One suggestion I would have is having the option to toggle wether or not the correct item you've found 'jumps' out at you or not, as sometimes I've suspected something to be what I'm looking for and it's been correct, without seeing why.
The only odd thing that stood out was how what appeared to be a pair of dice was called 'blocks'. I was looking for something like the ABC ones you give to toddlers. Apart from that (which isn't really bad, as you learn quickly) it's very fun, 4/5 :) Will perhaps play it again when I've forgotten some of the scenes. Hope you make more and longer ones! :)
(Sort of spoiler but not really) So the zombies weren't trying to kill me... they were just trying to flag me so they could get out of the wasteland :( Perhaps they were asking about 'trains?' and I misheard them over the engine.
For anyone stuck on 'Back and Forth' as the walkthrough doesn't tell you how to get gold: SPOILER: Your first move is to make the man fall, you can't get around that. Rather than dropping the boxes row by row, and shooting each row with four clicks, make four boxes (2x2) tip towards the 'kitty ferry' and shoot. If you time it just right, you can take out four boxes with one shot. You only need to get the blue monster as far as the two stacked slopes. Don't get rid of more than you need, you only need to get rid of the boxes directly under the monster.
@PenguinTrooper. I don't know if you'll be interested in this tip or not, but thought I'd say this just in case after seeing your comment. It's most likely to be your mouse. I couldn't play this game, or any other game that needed click and drag before as my mouse was doing the same as yours. Sometimes they just wear out, a connector gets obstructed, etc. etc. I use my mouse for gaming so it just happens from time to time, it's something you just expect. After purchasing a new mouse it's fine. Hope you get it sorted soon! :)
Please could we have an M for an all sounds and music mute, or at least a toggle for both on the pause menu? I'm surprised that games are still put out without having this basic function. Don't get me wrong, the sounds and music are good, but if I want to pause it and do something else, I don't want the sound on, and to have to quit my game to change it at the main menu.
Tips for level 10, I'm crap at explaining but I hope this may help someone. Going up and through the centre directly isn't the only option (or I couldn' do it that way, at least) Try to jump on the TOP of each tower where possible, without sticking. He walks a little bit, thus a little more hp, and not sticking buys you time. Try to jump from top of tower to top of tower where possible. Get to the left green HP box to collect your thoughts, watch the flow of the moving blocks near the top, and recharge his HP. Then, jump across the tops of them. DO NOT stick to the 'inside' of the tall block. Stick to it on the outside (the right side, nearest the right hp block) and keep jumping up.
Keep doing that until go get to the top. It really is a finnicky practice thing, so even if you tap the box but fall back onto the sticky, you're still adding to your sense of timing. Just keep at it, YOU CAN DOO-ET! :P
It's really weird, when I stop playing for a bit, I keep getting this feeling like I should be doing something. You keep reminding yourself you have to constantly keep moving, until it becomes second nature in the game, and when you're not playing it your brain has a sort of 'absence'. Really enjoying it so far, level 10 was a pig lol. I remember being sat on top of the right health box and reading the screen, and thinking 'but I've got to get to the other side yet, you think this is whining?' :P 5/5 It would have been 4/5 due to the lag, but 1) I'm not sure if it's deliberate or not and 2) if it isn't, hopefully it will get fixed as it's only just been released, and the content makes up for it :)
There's something really therapeutic about this game. I was a bit miffed when I realised I had to play it again after completion as the badges had been implemented, but when I started to play again the annoyance just melted away and I found myself enjoying it all over again. It's quite different to your usual style but it's definitely a 2DArray, and that is always a wonderful thing :)
I WON, I WON, OH MY GOD I WON! Sorry that this comment is pointless, but I have to express my joy here somehow. I absolutely adore this game and some of the levels my mind went 'This isn't humanly possible for you' but because it's so beautiful I kept trying. Finally, after all this time, many deaths and rages, I WON!!! WOOOOOOO! Wishing others the very best of luck. 5/5
I agree with a back/previous button, sometimes when I'm clicking the same button through badges, I quite often go 'don't feel like it, don't feel like it etc. HOOOOLD IT *accidentally clicks* nooooo!' Sometimes I'm lucky and catch the game name to manually type it, but it would be really nice to have a previous button (if possible) for those times where I've missed it.
