It's such a shame, this game is fantastic, but the bugs are driving me insane. I am getting so sick of refreshing the page because either a) companion has died and nothing will revive him despite following instructions or b) the character suddenly lags then freezes whilst the zombies carry on at the same rate. We should NOT be penalised for something which is not our fault (hence the refreshing) which normally isn't a problem, but sitting through those adverts 3 times within ten minutes gets very frustrating. I keep having to return to it the next day after 30 mins of gamplay so it doesn't drive me bananas. I gave it a 3 for the idea and potential, it would have been 5 without the glaring bugs. For such an advanced and well liked developer, and speaking as a fan of your work, this is a real shame. I hope one day to return to this with no bugs, when I can give it a 5/5. Good luck.
Please PLEASE add a confirmation for reset all levels, I clicked it by accident and have to start again, which stings even more as I had my shots down to 251. Argh. It was a very fun game and I will be playing it through again, still annoyed though.
''F**k gettin' milked! I'm gurna foire tha' milk in'o them durn bo''les, in ma own durn way, in ma own durn toime!'' (Cow has a farmer accent as it was raised in captivity) Maybe it's on a high speed escape but it's filling the odd bottle or two on its way out so the remaining cows work a little less. Or maybe each level is a different cow escaping and each one has a weird mechanism for its barn? Or maybe it's the same cow trying to escape over and over again...
5/5, hope it gets badges one day. Possibly more levels as this was a little short, but in this case it feels like quality over quantity, which is good.
Not only is this a great way for people to find badges that they may have missed and have trouble finding, it's also a great way for people to discover and rediscover new games. Even if a game may have been rated highly enough to get badges initially, that doesn't mean it got or kept getting enough recognition. 5/5 for ease of use, its usefulness, and for drawing more people to these games.
@Hopefullbliss Are you waiting for it to rev up? If not -- press an hold the mouse button, if you have the sound on it will make a whirring noise. Don't let go until you start firing bullets. You can stop firing before emptying the gun, but you will have to rev it up again (I found it best to empty it steadily as revving for a clip or less can be time consuming) You will get the feel of it with practise and listening to it. Good luck! :-)
Don't forget that you can message Kongregate about a missing achievement by clicking on the badge and then 'report missing achievement'.(Get proof first or make sure you open the page in a new tab!) I completed this before badges were implemented and it hadn't awarded, so I beat the game again. Although it took a while of waiting and a page refresh, the badge appeared. ALWAYS ALWAYS get PROOF before refreshing. Take a screenshot with chat visible and of the final results at the end of the game. I know it's frustrating and it can be easy to ragequit sometimes, most of us have been there -- just don't be hasty. I now do this for every game if the badge hasn't appeared, it's better to be safe than sorry. Get the proof, go to report missing achievement, and take it from there. They're very helpful! :-) Good luck!
I like how this not only tests you but also teaches you. If there's one that you absolutely can't answer you can look it up. If you've never heard of it before or the subject interests you, you can then go and research it further. One of my favourites for this was '300 B in the T of C' I had never heard about this before and it was very interesting to read about it.
For anyone who might make the same mistake I did (I'm ashamed to admit it) The game doesn't autosave. The big question mark in the top right corner is where you go to save your game. I thought it was a help/hint button ;_; Now to get the lvl 15 again, lol!
*SPOILER* *RELATING TO ENDING* *SPOILER*
If, like me, you had the rocket overlap the end text, or have a weird 'skip', the end text says:
'As you shoot off into the distance, you realise how small you really are'*/SPOILER* It took 3 attempts to get that screenshot as the text blinked by, but with my luck, on the third attempt the ending worked perfectly LOL. Beautiful music, lovely game, I echo that it was too short. 5/5 and hopes of a much longer sequel :-) I love the movement and the way the character 'grips' without being awkward. I actually enjoyed running from the water due to this, hehe :-)
I'm currently not in the mood for a patience testing game, but I felt that the bits I did play to give it a go were very clever and a very fun idea. I still rated it 5/5 as I can see how good it will be, and hope to return to it at a later date when I feel like this kind of game. Brilliant idea! :-)
Kings of the carnival creation by Dimmu Borgir -- DO IT NOW!
That was just epic. I love it when the sky goes blue on the violins and then.... BOOM! lol
Wonderful idea, 5/5. Often laugh if I have own music on in background whilst playing a game and it fits, but with this it's perfect. Level ends at right time (Bit surreal pausing, and music 'pauses' too) I really hope that you run with this idea, Nerdook. As it is, it's fun to go 'Feel like song X, I'll give it a bash on Jacob+the 'copter' but would love to see you do this with a bigger game,Maybe a bigger version of this.(more upgrades, a story etc.?) Eg,between levels it could ask'which song for this level?'Then you could pick a Nerdook song or an MP3. Or players can whack their own album in there and keep a similar mood throughout the storyline. I also feel part of the game again. I panicked a little after the piano game, but this feels like a Nerdook :-) (P.S. It gave me an amazing level when playing to Rammstein's 'Sonne', BIG monsters lol. If you want a relaxing level with nice pace, try Ultravox's Vienna. Not very challenging but nice if you want a slowey with a good pace)
Since playing Cactus Mcoy, I was pessimistic about finding a shooter/adventure flash game that I could enjoy anywhere near as much. This is just as enjoyable for me. Incredibly smooth, music you not only want to hear but improves your performance, addictive and to cap it all it's humorous. 5/5. I was debating whether or not to complain about the bounciness of the pearls, but it actually adds to gameplay for me. Running about grabbing money in midair whilst shooting enemies is satisfying and goes with the territory! :-D
''Jobs done!'' *says goodbye and retires to van* * Waits half an hour for home damage shock to sink in, changes outfit and returns to house* ''Hullo, I wonder if I could interest you in basement repairs and clean-up?''
Love it, 5/5. All places bought and maxed out. I earned 10.000 + plus the price of the next place before moving, much more playability that way and it's fun getting used to the places. Did have a couple of glitches but nothing that effected my gameplay luckily. Did have quite a lot of customers moonwalking over the CD shelves and out of the shop though! Durn them magician shoplifters :-P
It's a real shame this never got badges. Hopefully one day, maybe when it's all ironed out and hopefully it will have a sudden popularity surge :-)
Had a strong pain killer just before discovering this game. The room hasn't stopped moving! :-P I love it, it can be frustrating but it has that element a lot of games don't have -- it makes you laugh and then you carry on. The game is also good enough to make you want to carry on as well. The effects are very smooth, they have a REAL effect as opposed to a mish-mash of effects *trying* to make you dizzy. These are different effects altogether. 5/5, hope you get badges soon :-) I'll come back to get 'em!
Brilliant, addictive game. Without giving details away, on the last level I had only one Core left and they were about to exit, manage to just kill the carrier. Thought I was going to be sick, lol! 5/5 Onto the final challenge! I loved the music, the story, the graphics. It's all been said before but I loved it :-)
