Wow, thanks for the fast response and making the pause menu mute the game as a quick-fix! :)

Unless there already is one and I'm not seeing it, could we get an in-level mute option, please? If I want to take a break and tab out it stays running. I've tried M, S, right-clicking and checking the pause menu, also the minus key, but still can't find it. Loving it so far, some great puzzles in there as well as the tricky platforming :)

Developer response from Jindo

Woops, I'll put that in the next update, thanks! EDIT: Music is now muted while the game is paused, I will see about a hotkey in the future.

Very interesting. I was pleasantly surprised, though it needs a lot of work. I stopped playing at the ghost trap. It is very uncomfortable trying to play when the camera doesn't centre and follow the character properly. You feel like you are dragging through custard and it's frustrating not seeing what's ahead, and going through all that a couple of times only to get jumped by the ghost at the end got too annoying. The dialogue and text also need a lot of polishing, I followed the meaning most of the time but others it sounded like they were talking about a completely different game. With all that said, I loved the atmosphere, and I loved where you were going with the story. The music was a great choice, and if you iron out the controls and writing, I hope to see you become quite a force in psychological/surreal gaming one day :) You clearly have a talent here and I'd love to see how this gets better with technical advice.

Developer response from Moreham

Thank you for your detailed comment. Yes, my game has a number of drawbacks. Before, I did not do such large projects. And English is not my native language. But I don't plan to polish the game. My plans is the creation of new games. And I think, new games will be better than it.

Despite this being rather easy and short, I couldn't give it less than 4. There is so much potential here! The art and atmosphere is beautiful, the writing is clear and humorous, the music fitting and the combat system very simple to use. I REALLY hope this gets expanded on, I can see a huge world fantasy epic in the making, here :) The potential for a great quest system and plot is also evident. Some inventory descriptions would also be nice. Best wishes for your future games, please don't leave this all on its own! ;)

I had the same issue as Mayhem7 and refreshed to see if it would fix it. Lost EVERYTHING. Will not be coming back unless export save feature is implemented, which should have been done before publishing the game. And RocketUp, nothing was changed. Do not assume thing about others before offering 'advice' as you end up spreading misinformation.

Please could you implement an export save function? This feels like an idler that really needs one, love the concept :) Thanks in advance if you do.

So so, pretty decent but not great. I think what stops it from being fun is the sluggish and sometimes clunky controls. It would be much nicer if we could press and hold the direction we want and they'd slide there. With that said though, I like the 'think fast' aspect of readjusting to the design of each level, nice colour and image choices :) That way you can go image (eg. pig) pig = 6 or pink = 6 and memory-map that way.

Pretty good, has great potential. I wish the hitboxes on hazards were clearer, particularly on spike-wheels. Clearer check points would be nice, too, as on levels with them you can't always tell how much progress you'll lose if you fail a tricky bit. I gave up on the level with the single moving platform, too hard for me though that doesn't necessarily mean it's too hard in general. It would be nice to have at least a checkpoint after the first crusher, but others may not agree. I also wish our character would auto-grab onto climbing fences, often when I've respawned they just keep falling through them, or if you go up too far they just let go and don't grab again. The jump mechanics mau be too floaty for smaller ledges, but that could just be me. A menu/level select feature would be great. Apart from all that, quite the intriguing game and I'm interested to see how this develops, particularly story-wise :) Great choice of music and graphics.

Love it! I wasn't sure this was something I'd enjoy but it's truly a compelling arcade-style game! The mechanics are beautiful in that the movement of the claw is smooth and the pick-up-and-drop motions are crisp. You can play it leisurely for a short while or you can keep trying to out-do yourself by playing a twitch-style game. The sounds respond perfectly to player actions, the second the claw has emptied you immediately know when to begin moving it again due to the precise bleep. I also love the concept of helper skulls. As for upgrades, you feel the difference upon purchasing making a fair and rewarding yet still challenging game. I also love the arcade-style feel of the 'gamble' between grabbing enemies to clear the way or hold longer to grab a fluff-cluster. The sounds, music and overall look fit really well with the feel. All in all a superb game. Judging by the description a lot of love went into it, too. 5/5, Kong API please and perhaps a SFX option on each menu :)

Wow, this one was quite different from your other escapes but I loved the feel of it, quite an unsettling atmosphere. It took me a little while to get used to where to click from your other games and how to trigger events, but once I got that sussed it was pretty smooth. You obviously know how to do a creepy feel so I'd love it one day if you did a longer game with more of a story and perhaps a horror/spooky mystery theme. That combined with your puzzles could make a really interesting game. You clearly have all the elements (I've been following your games for some time now) it's just coming up with a story and setting :)

@Pitanello - I'm stuck at the end, I've tried searching for a walkthrough and haven't managed to find anything. I've found what I think is everything (except the last item in the sketch-book) and I am at the pedestal area. Everytime I put the pot of water on it, it sinks the pedestal but then it returns the pot full of water to my inventory almost immediately, so I can't go and turn the crank on the plug sockets. Is this a bug, or is there a reason it's being returned to my inventory? (eg. something else I need to do before placing the pot of water)

@jennifer626 - hint/spoiler alert. I'm not sure where you're trying to use the balls, but you don't need to close the inventory for where you use them. If (and this is a spoiler, not a hint, but I'll try and be subtle) you're trying to put them in a hole not related to the game table, you can drag and use them on another part of where the hole is.

Unless I'm missing something, it doesn't appear to save synthesis or evolution path properly. Every time I refresh I have to select warm or cold blooded. As for synthesis, I bought body synthesis (common scale) and when I refreshed it was gone, and the protein I spent on it (11) didn't return. I went to get 11 protein and bought it again, and had 0 protein left. I refreshed the game to see if it saved, I came back and the scales were gone again and I had a seemingly random 2 protein rather than 0 in my inventory. If there's a way to save it please let me know, but given the random amount of protein I have something doesn't seem quite right?

Love it! The feel of this game is great, one of my favourite features is being able to find a whole ruin rather than just single-square discoveries. A couple of things I thought might be interesting additions, perhaps being able to find artefacts and have a museum section to find what you've discovered that persists across play-throughs. I think this would add to replayability and would add something else to strive towards, there's also something nice about seeing what you've collected in one place. Also perhaps themed dig-sites you could choose to go to, eg. ancient Egypt, ancient Greece, ancient Rome, prehistoric, (maybe even a futuristic area where you're not sure what you're finding, such as alien artefacts? o_O) etc. where you have the chance to find specific artefacts to that time period, and have a section dedicated for each in a museum. A joke junk section for each area might be funny, too. 5/5!

Developer response from scriptwelder

I like those ideas and to be honest I was thinking the same thing, it would be great to make ancient Egypt excavation etc. But the game accompanies a real-life excavation event that takes place right now in real-life Nowe Monasterzysko - so it has to be focused on that specific area :)

As much as I love this series, I felt dissapointed quite a bit by this one. I loved the first 3 chapters, (minus the slider puzzle, but that's just personal opinion so I won't rate on that) but the 4th chapter ruined it for me. The atmosphere was great but in the other Cube Escapes, you get the sense of being chased with impending doom WITHOUT being forced to click everything in a frenzy. I felt like I didn't really get to *experience* the last chapter, it started off with the feeling of horror and being hunted, but quickly turned to frustration. I was panicking so much at getting it right that I didn't stay at the end for as long as I'd have liked to see what happens. By all means have a chase section, but please don't let a whole chapter rely on that. In the very least take the controls away when you're safe so that the player can see the ending properly. Again, love the series, loved most of this one, so please don't take this too negatively.

Nice little game. I'm not sure what happens if you die, but I think if I had to do it all over I'm not sure I would have had the patience, so I hope there's some form of checkpointing involved. I like the ambience and the sound effects were a good choice, but I think the sound effect volume needs tweaking lower as they got obnoxiously loud sometimes, meaning I had to turn down master volume and could barely hear the ambience then. This is a great start, I love the style, and you clearly have an over-all good story idea and sense of humour. I could see this being expanded into a large metroidvania type game, with pieces of story and maybe artefacts to find. Eitherway, I hope you keep doing what you're doing and make adjustments along the way to build to bigger games! 4/5 for potential.

The game appears to have focus issues, even if I've clicked within focus I, left and right moves the screen L+R, and pressing space does the usual paragraph-skip on page. If you get this fixed please dev response, I'm intrigued by this game and would love to start playing it :)

This is great. It doesn't grab you immediately looks-wise so it appears just to be another sliding-blocks game, but the puzzles are not only solid but complex in their simplicity too! Pretty much each one has made me think and I'm only on level 6, 5 was a real head-scratcher. Some mutable, fitting music would be nice but not essential. The click-and-drag movements are often unresponsive and a little clunky so that could use some work, other than that I'm really impressed with the puzzles. 4/5, it's a bit bare-bones but I can't rate it less given how it's exercised my brain so much already. Keep it up, you clearly have a knack for puzzle creation! :)
