The game is technically free to play, but it's very pay to win. To have any chance at all of reaching the top levels, and top 10 leaders, you're going to have to spend money. There's no way around it. While you certainly can play entirely for free, there's no way you'll keep up and survive in mid to high levels without balens. Sad but true.
I need to gripe. I really do. There needs to be a way to turn off the damn tutorial. The entire game locks down, and forces you to click on what it tells you to whether you like it or not, and it's 100% complete crap. Some of us don't need the freakin tut! Stop forcing us to click things, and go places we don't want to! TURN OFF YOUR GOD FORSAKEN TUTORIAL. -_-
I won't give away spoilers for anyone who hasn't played this yet. I'll just say when you reach the end, you should be allowed to take matters into your own hands. v_V
Ok so. I have a 98 pistol skill. Zombies are close enough to touch my nose. And I miss. 7 times in a row. Mkay. Maybe a slight tweek in the battle system. Not much, just a little. Next, Could the weapons reload any slower at all? For someone trained and experienced with firearms, it takes literally less that 2 seconds to switch out a new clip. I'm sitting here getting backed into a corner and pounded on by half a dozen sprinting zombies waiting the 57 gajillion hours it takes to swap out the clip. I'd like a little faster reload time. Doesn't have to be much, just enough to give you at least a fighting chance, and not get swarmed. Final point. Zombies don't run. They shamble. x.X
Neverending Permacombo! 11 Turrets, 8 sentinels, 8 launchers, 6 buzzsaws, all the pipes to level 30. Space them out evenly to cover the whole map, and give the turtles no space to land.
I was afraid this would be just another pay to play money pit, but this is a rare time when I'm quite happy to be proven wrong! And it runs on Kreds too. Joy of joys~! :D
Ok, a rage quit comment coming. I'm actually happy with the increased difficulty in the zombies, but you might have overdone it just a little. Surrounded by half a dozen armed zombies, while fighting TWO bosses at once. The zombies require an entire clip each to kill, and the bosses end you in a single hit. Seriously? I love the difficulty boost, but maybe a little more moderation. Having to restart a mission over and over and over again gets real old, real fast. -.-
We have no interest in going to their site. That's why we're on Kongregate. If we wanted to go to an outside site, we wouldn't have come here in the first place. This isn't the place to plug your site, and jack business and players from Kong. We have absolutely no interest helping these developers turn a profit.
Neat little game! A few things, though. It needs more upgrades. Even maxed out, you'll never make it to the bottom before you
re destroyed by crashing into fish, or run out of fuel. A shortcut system or checkpoints. Having to make your way down from the surface every time gets old real fast. A larger field of vision. Your sub moves so fast and wild, there's no real way to avoid fish that spawn out of nowhere and ram you. (You take damage, but the fish doesn't. Explain that one to me. -_-) Aside from these things, it's a fantastic little game! 4/5
Just another pay to play money pit disguised as a game, identical to the thousands before it. Every last move you make requires money with admonitions of "Buy now!" Not even mentioning the forceful encouragement to invite our friends so they can dump money in as well. Premium content is one thing. There's nothing wrong with that. But making a money vacuum and calling it a game isn't gonna fly. Especially not on Kongregate. Now my next point. All of this is perpetuated with a 20 year old concept. Not only are you suckering people into the money scam you call a game, you're doing it with a direct carbon copy ripoff of Dungeonkeeper. Anyone remember that one? Dungeonkeeper was a revolutionary, iconic classic, and you're using it to turn a buck. This utterly sickens me. Sadly there's no rule against you scam artists peddling your garbage on Kongregate, but I for one, don't have to look at it.
This is an awesome game! The mechanics are a little iffy, though. You have you rebuild your neighborhood JUST RIGHT or your whole town does nothing but fail. You just can't keep up with the zombie hordes. Maybe a little more breathing room between zombie attacks. Example. I have 27 men guarding my fort, all surrounding areas around it are bright red, with a mutant horde 2 nights away. the danger to my fort is 55%. On easy. REALLY? Maybe just a little slack in the zombie horse area would be enough to give players at least a fighting chance. I'll give a 4/5
