Good, but not that good. At first I liked it.... and then I was bored. When you can get to the point where you place the cursor in one area of the map and just let it shoot for a while as you check on whether your tablet is plugged in properly and still come back to finish, it's in need of some tweaking. Lots of the other comments cover it, so I won't rehash. I eventually just let it go in the third "campaign" because it was too repetitive.
Dissenting voice here: I actually appreciate the "waiting to heal" portion of the game. It allows me to get some actual work done! LOL!
One question I do have... I have a "Heavy War Bow" in my inventory that I can't seem to equip. It says it's a novice weapon and I have several novice characters, yet it doesn't appear in the options to equip.
Not bad... Graphics are nice and gameplay is good...ish. Too much clicky clicky for firing. Does greatly need an autofire option, as already mentioned. Perhaps an upgrade? My finger is sore, actually.
As I found I had to grind previous levels for a lot more gold, a way to bypass the "yes you won this much gold and gained these many stars" graphic after battles would be very appreciated. I don't need to see the little bar climb every time and clicking should cause it to just jump to the summary of the battle.
The trick was getting just over 100,000 points and not millions and millions (so many that I was pretty sure it was never going to stop so I just went back to the menu). Perhaps there needs to be an "Overachiever" badge.... and maybe an automated cut-off so it doesn't (at least appear to) go on forever.
Great game, though. I like the concept. Simple and fun.
Very nice game. Simple (but not overly) game play, appropriate levelling and item manufactured items were a fun variation on the usual "buy stuff" upgrades. I enjoyed the humorous voice overs as well. The only minor criticism would be that nothing is quite that "Unbelievable!" You need to have it say "unbelievable" less frequently, come up with a more varied vocabulary or have a way to mute only the voice because I like the other sound effects.
Actually, a great game for me. 5/5!
Very good. 4/5 stars. Ramps up nicely although the final boss is kinda unbeatable. I'll echo the idea of an upgrade so the blind girls orbs can hit flying. Maybe a targeting function?
Unfortunately the issue of bad guys being stuck outside the level has NOT been fixed. I had it happen at least 3 times. Once a big guy with a mace who never came fully on screen, the next the witch on a stick who never fully arrived on screen and the third was someone (conquistador character?) who I knocked back and just remained off screen. All three were in later levels... probably 24... and all three prevented me from completing the level.
Very enjoyable. 5 stars. Nice "Diablo-feel" to it, right down to the music.
Couple of possible glitches. Tried to go back to "town" a couple of times with a full inventory and got only the black screen. None of the hotkeys "I" "S" seemed to do anything (at least to the screen). Refresh brought me back to the last boss fight with my current inventory which was cool but kinda allowed me to double down on stuff.
Also, after opening a chest or picking up an item, I seemed to have to move at least a step before I could use a magic spell. Can be a bit awkward in some instances. My son says it might be a feature instead of a bug.
great game, though. looking for more.
I gave it 4/5 for concept, graphics and story... I liked it a lot but, after only a couple of waves, the end was never in doubt. I maxed research and alternated between accuracy and reload. Sniper rifle was a 1-2 shot kill of almost everything and before anything bigger came along, I had maxed out pretty much everything and bought the machine gun. At that point there was no contest at all. So close, but it needs a little more challenge.
To be honest, I found it frustrating more than anything. The frequency with which the game did not register my mouse clicks killed me more often than anything else.
Perfect for the tablet/smartphone! I tried it on a Blackberry PlayBook & Sony Experia Arc.
PlayBook: I can get to the game through the main site and double tapping on the game opens it to full screen (it's not playable otherwise because every swipe slides the screen up and down). Works great but very slow. You have to anticipate the walls going away because of the lag from when the flashing starts and when the line goes in place.
To make it playable on tablet, you should give the magnet right off because there is no "mouse-over" but tapping the coins gets them until I get to the point where I can buy the magnet. Other than the speed issue, it looks like a perfect game to port over to a tablet.
Not available on the mobile Kong site nor 'droid app, so I had to find it from the main site.
Droid: As above - Slow & no mouse-over for coins. Graphics are small, but without "chat" window riding along side it will be better if/when it's able to take advantage of the entire screen.
Great mechanics and graphics. Great take on the "defense" genre. Loved the bosses at the end. Loved the "intuitive" use of 1-5 keys for the powers lining the top.
The only thing that prevented me from giving it 5 stars (instead of 4) was it was a tad too easy. The only way I can see to make it tougher but keep the balance (it is SOOOooo close...) is to put lower level bosses along the way and maybe balance that with single use "pick-ups". Either that or have a longer line of power upgrades or slower regeneration of the power... Like I said, so very close.
I guess it just made me want more, so I was sad it was over.
Great job.
What better way to burn off a bad day than killing zombies with a SHARK GUN! What better way? How about a Remote Control Cyborg Tyrannosaurus Rex that shoots LASERS! 5 stars is all it gives you but a bazillion points of Awesome!! Made me smile after a day of arguing with my cell phone company. I wouldn't have thought that would be possible!!
Fricking brilliant! I am not a fan of "find things in the room" kind of game at all, but the music kept me going until the end. I was grateful for the sparkly hints a couple of times and did use the hints on a couple of puzzles when the results sounded close (or I was just lazy). Great choice of music woven together well with a very good puzzler. Story-line was interesting too.
I disagree with the trial and error comments I've seen. For the most part, it's careful listening.
Perfect combination of all the elements and I look forward to more.
ssssshhh.... Don't tell anyone it's educational! ;-)
Five stars until the Brave New World. I was excited to see what would go on from there... until I left my computer. After getting blitzed by the same player 3 times in 3 hours, this game is not worth the trouble at all!!
Now I know why a number of the people I was battling with have disappeared from the game.
Oh and the surprise of needing 2 million of EVERYTHING to create an outpost. Not fun to find out after the battle and expending twigs and stones that really weren't needed to be sent, but just making sure.
Thanks for breaking me of the addiction. I won't be back!
Absolutely INFURIATING!
I get to the alleged "Brave New World" by upgrading my map room only to find I can be attacked repeatedly by some ditz that I can't even find on the stupid "Brave New World" map! No clue during the course of the previous portion of the game as to why one should ever think to upgrade a flinger or a catapult and now I have to waste the time and effort of building an upgraded map room in order to demolish it so I don't get attacked from undetectable sources. Well, probably not undetectable if I'm willing to scroll manually through page after small page of the screen with teeny tiny writing in order to find the name of the individual who was attacking me and snuff them!!
... continued ...
