The whole barricades thing is quite clever, and I rather like it. But there are two pretty serious flaws with the game. The first is that because the zombies have been coded to be solid, you can get surrounded in less than a second in later waves, and then your frail little dude gets ripped to pieces in the blink of an eye. The second issue is that the camera doesn't follow the player fast enough, so it can be difficult to defend an area.
Pretty good. I agree that customization of the ship itself would be a great improvement. I also think it would be nice if there was a selection of different ships available, that you could select based on your rank and/or buy, e.g.
sloop < corvette < frigate < galleon < man o' war
I like the concept and this is a good kind of strategy game (even if it's filed under 'action') but it needs improvement.
This is a very good game, which is why it remains fun to play in the face of the many problems it has: items obstruct your movement, the inventory gets bogged down by necessary items, you get slowed down in the process of using potions (hotkeys?), the news prompter in the corner gets in the way, and if it's possible to pause the game, I have yet to figure it out.
But as I say, it's still fun to play. It just has room for improvements to make it into a fantastic game.
The UI needs improvement (especially arranging skills, and the map) but this is an excellent game. The basic concept allows for lots of depth of play, but doesn't require spending an hour learning nauseatingly complex controls like some games.
It's good, but it has some bugs. That it stops displaying health in high-speed mode is an annoyance. That towers will sometimes not shoot the first enemy in a round (boss round, anyone?) or will spend an entire round shooting projectiles that pass through their targets...is a serious flaw.
