If elements can stay in the top 5 ccgs on kong for 8 years running despite not getting any updates since before WoO even came out, I think we could totally get this gem up there and breathe some life back into the community.
today I learned that spellpower increases how far enemies fly when hit with the shockwave spell. Never gets old watching them literally fly across my screen, mounted units instantly losing their mounts.
Zoon is pretty busted. He's super easy to please, more retreats is super useful, and having all spells and gear for free means you can literally have mythic tier gear for every fight.
Turns out battlemages are totally doable. They just need to be wielding a one handed weapon without a shield. A dodge specced air mage with the shockwave spell is good for this, especially with another mage (or the same one) having slow from the earth tree.
@ItuX I did a 3 arcane mage run a bit ago (for the longest time thought it was impossible due to the random heroes but whatever) that went reasonably well. Depended on mercenaries a lot until I hit a high enough level for them to summon, and then every fight the earth elemental tanked, the air mage healed, and the fire mage blasted. Would have probably gone better if Tavros wasn't so stingy with his valkyries.
I am not arguing for such extensive player choice in character stats, but I would, at the VERY LEAST, like to be able to choose what skills my randomly statted character start with.
Okay I don't want to keep harping on about this but randomized hero selection is really killing this game for me. Letting a player choose to have random stuff and try to win with it is all well and good, but I cannot think of a single other roguelike that takes character creation so completely out of the player's hands, and the few I can think of either suffered for it or there were no mechanical differences between two separate characters in the first place. Even the stated goal of streamlining starting a new game doesn't work, because here I am unable to start a game until I roll a lineup of heroes with the three starting skills I want to use, let alone stats.
