@Urthurian: You mentioned this game is CCleaner friendly. You can have CCLeaner NOT clean certain cookies. To do so, open it up, click on Options on the bottom-left, then click on Exclude, and then choose the Flash cookie folders you don't want to ever have deleted. For example, I have C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects\[Random8CharacterFolder]\assets.kongregate.com\ skipped. I also have assets.ninakiwi.com, chat.kongregate.com, external.kongregate-games.com. You might also want to check under C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\[Random8CharacterFolder].default\storage\default\http+++game256923.konggames.com\ if you use Firefox for several more folders to protect. Finally, if there is ever a game you like playing, use DateModified: if you are using Windows in file explorer search to see any newly modified files. If you are only playing games, then the most recent one to show up is the file that has your save data.
In case people are interested during the ending credits i found out you can press left and right arrow keys to cause your character to fly in different directions until the white light fully envelopes you and you go back to the title screen.
Game is ok... but the lag is REALLY bad. If I just start clicking 10x per second the game slows down. It also takes a long time for new pictures to load. I've sometimes defeated 10 enemies before the picture of the enemy appears, and I've even had boss enemies get in melee range before they FINALLY become visible. Overall, 3/5 stars for good game mechanics countered by bad game setup. Also, anyone else think this Easy badge was one of the longest ones? I spent close to a hour when usually I can get Medium badges quicker than that.
Wow, how did I miss l playing this game? I joined Kongregate on June 2, 2009, less than 2 weeks after this game was published, and I had never seen this game pop up as a recommended game for the next badge or for the BotD. This is one of the highest ranked games on my list of "things in video games that scientists should NOT try to make in real life", but other than the weird steed for the kid we control, the game is pretty good. 4/5 Stars

You acquired this badge on May. 21, 2011. Wow. It's been years since I first played this game. I remember playing it on a daily basis to compete against others to see who could get the farthest each day. It's too bad seeing all these MMOs slowly fade away over the years.
Everyone, the lesson to learn from this game is that before you give away things (whether time, money, or a Golden Mallet of Enlightenment) to find the answer to a question, you may want to think of you really want to spend whatever on getting the true answer. Because the true answer may be completely boring, and you'll be called an idiot for wasting your time. Like that MIT study that just came out after spending who knows how much time and money to end up saying that subway trains in New York City heavily contributed to the spread of coronavirus in New York City. @grastens and felpsfake: I see that person named goffusama311 with a completion time of -2,655 in both Today and This Week high scores. However, there are a bunch of people with a completion time of 1 second in the All-Time record, so it seems there has been an issue with cheating for a long time.
I'm still stuck on losing 2 lives on level 1-3 instead of just 1, for a total of 6 deaths for the entire game, and I got all the badges back on May. 23, 2011.
Wow, this game came out in 2008 and I've only NOW played it. This is one of the reason I like BotD; it shows me great games that I've missed even after playing on Kongregate for over 10 years.
I had to look up Taniwha after seeing the word it in "Anika's Odyssey: Land of the Taniwha" which is the game's full title: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taniwha. So, I guess that purple lake creature is the Taniwha? Given it only plays a brief role in the game I don't know why the game was named after it. /shrug Also, be sure to scratch the giant man's back and give a kiss to the mountain after it scares the eagle away. :)
Yeesh, I didn't figure out until I was nearly done with the first 9 holes that the yellow area was supershots. For some reason, the instructions on the different colors didn't show until I played 9 holes the second time (both of which were the first set.) Playing a game without instructions when they are supposed to show up is very annoying. Besides that though, the only issues with the game is that the competitors start off with gear much better than you, and as others have mentioned the small hills that cause your ball to completely stop are very annoying. Overall, I give the game 3/5 stars
Wow, I remember playing this game years ago, so I checked the badge award date and saw I beat the game on Jun. 30, 2012. It's nice seeing fun games I beat in the past being BotD.
@pinkyk22: Well, if you were being payed every time you wanted to rage quit you'd be looking forward to the hard levels, which means since you wanted them you would never want to rage quit the game because you would be getting payed, causing a catch-22.
I played this game 9 years ago, and I still think the blunt truth about the speed is humorous: "x meaningless units per second". Sometimes the truth can be funny.
@FlamerXMagofire: Several games only send to Kongregate your progress for the badge when the game ends, such as by completing the game or dying, and this game is one of them.
Like the "Finding my Heart" game that was a BotD last week, this game also has links that definitely no longer go to where they were meant to go to. Too bad these games can't have links retroactively updated so they work.
Well, here's an interesting bug. I went backward at the beginning of the Outlands: The Caves I fell off a cliff and never died. I had to exit the level to get out.
@jrmcg: The coins used to be able to allow you to buy a link where you could download music/wallpaper/etc. That website changed ownership however, see my comment that is 4 posts before yours for a full explanation. Also, see the description to the right of the comments section.
@Orpheas and Firechanter: I found this on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hermaphrodite: For example, the great majority of tunicates, pulmonate snails, opisthobranch snails, earthworms, and slugs are hermaphrodites. (Copies on Feb. 15, 2020) So, since not all snails are hermaphrodites, I GUESS this game is possible... assuming snails could be construction workers... go to space... be persistent about finding love... Yeah, sure, possibly being a hermaphodite is the biggest issue here. /sarc
