It should allow you to choose what you get when you dismiss a creature, from the list you already randomly get. As it is, I just get around the randomness by saving and reloading, so I can sort of already get what I want, it just is a larger pain than if it was built in.
I had a glitch with frailty. The enemy used battle cry, and then on my turn afterwards I used frailty on the one enemy creature, and frailty did nothing. At the beginning of every turn after that for the rest of the game it popped up to tell me frailty ran out (even long after the original creature died).
