Pretty decent idler. I like the matching mechanics a lot. Early progression is very uneven, though, and it seems a bit short.

Time Loop starts out OK, but it hits a huge wall around the time that you get to cars the 2nd time around. Normally around this point you'd be buying x10 speed multiplier, a couple x3 price multipliers, etc. So you wind up dozens of times faster to tackle the last several items. But the second time around you're already at something like 40-50x speed and prices, so adding 10x is only a slight increase and you wind up taking weeks between new items.

Fun game, lots of promise. My comments: 1) Visionaries are still ridiculously overpowered. Squad #35 will wipe most encounters in 1 turn. 2) Squads are very disorganized, needs to be sorted by cost and/or faction. 3) Squad purchases have an odd power curve--there are a ton of minor variations at the 11/22/33 price points, then basically nothing until the 105 price point which is an enormous jump up. There's not much point to having a bunch of slightly different low cost squads because any tactical difference is overshadowed by the new units at the 105 cost level. 4) Speaking of which, squads #9 and #28 are jokes--they cost 105 but do not have any elite units, making them way inferior to other squads at this price point.

Manwithabook: research get more useful as you accumulate medals and upgrades from run to run. Also, some buildings that don't seem worth investing in early on get much better as you get to higher building counts and later rounds of research. e.g. gold pans seem pretty useless at first, after 100 or so pans (and the accompanying upgrades) they provide some marginal income, at 200 pans they start to actually look pretty good. But you're not likely to get that far until you've got quite a few runs under your belt.

Are you saying you're buying trolleys at 1.5t and mines at 25t? If you keep up with your research there's no way that you're actually getting 15x the GPS per mine that you are per trolley--that might happen after you hit the 100 mine upgrade, but it shouldn't happen before. Sluices are also disproportionately good and are worth taking a look at. Pans actually do get pretty decent eventually but they're still a sideshow at your stage.

Also, I'm not quite clear on your numbers but if you have 93 mines and buying a new mine increases your GPS ~300m and you only have 23.4b total GPS then you're badly neglecting non-mine buildings. At that stage in the game other buildings are still price-competitive and you can raise your income much faster by sinking your money elsewhere. It's only after the 145t and 2.1qa upgrades that mines completely blow everything else out of the water.

@tulamide, you may need to collect more global skills/medals/artifacts to make much progress at that stage. However, you're very close to a MAJOR breakpoint at 100 mines, where the 145t research for quintuple mine income unlocks. That's where the new mines really kick into gear--under the previous version, at ~3000 clicks (a fair amount of clicking, but not completely glued to your computer) 100 mines with the 4th multiplier and the 2nd special ability would have a base income of 4.8m each; with the new mines, assuming 25% of your clicks have been crits (if you've got 4-5 levels in crit skill, you're spending most of the game above 30% chance to crit), this translates to 18m each, almost quadruple what it used to be. It's not as powerful as the original version of the mine but it's still a very healthy upgrade.

Mine v3 definitely does the trick--it took me 20h to get to the point that I was at 60h on my mine v2 endless run. I actually kind of missed the gimped mine, though. The previous version actually gave me a reason to care about other buildings but now mines get so strong so fast that there's not much reason to bother with anything else. Instead of trying to balance my buildings now I'm just spending 99.9% of my time saving up to buy the next mine, which is a lot less interesting. It would be nice if other buildings had better scaling, or there were other upgrades or buildings to look forward to for progress, rather than having a single building type driving all your progress.

How do I get the rest of the artifacts? I seem to have stopped getting blue artifacts but I'm still missing several. I've done ten of the trillion challenges since I got the last one and I'm still learning new skills sometime but no items.

Developer Reply

Artifact drop is random. Chance to get specific artifact is 10-15%. So sometimes you need 20-30 playthroughs to get all the artifacts.

LordDelta, you're not entirely wrong, but you're describing the entire idle game genre. Your warnings aren't telling anyone anything that's not already said by the "IDLE" tag at the front of the game's tag list. I think the speed run challenges gives this game an edge over most idle games but it's still an idler at its heart.

@shakeup: The max rank in the challenges is Impossible. I forget the exact numbers but it's something like roughly 20 mins for million/40 mins for billion/60 mins for trillion.

I can see why people are upset about the mine nerf for endless mode but I'm really enjoying the new content as far as the challenges go. Really endless mode needs more tiers of buildings more than it needs super-mines, but obviously that takes work.

Someone asked about how many shards you get for exploding in endless mode. When you explode you have 1 minute to generate as much gold as you can (it does not matter how much you have saved up before then, only what you make after exploding--bonus boxes remain in effect.) The first time I exploded I made 5 billion and got ~184 shards, the second time I got 500 billion for ~1840 shards. Hope this helps.

Neat little diversion, not normally a big fan of clickers but I like this. Two comments: 1) The crit rage box seems very weak compared to the other boxes, on average it's slightly better per second than click boost but the duration is almost halved AND you can't use it for power clicker/power miner the way you can with other boxes, as it is a lot depends on luck of box draws and crit rage is particularly unlucky. 2) Is there a reason you have to unequip items manually before equipping other items? It would be a huge help if you could just go to another item and hit equip to swap.

Developer Reply

Crit rage will be much more powerful in next updates. And now you can reequip artifacts with one click.

Seems like a step backwards from the first one. Less customization and simpler combat where it feels like the enemies are an afterthought and I'm mostly battling against the sloppy controls and pathfinding. Still pretty decently fun, though.

Very nice puzzle game but the lack of an undo feature is pretty bad. It sucks spending 5 minutes nudging everything into place and then having to redo everything because you hit the wrong arrow.

@Minnesang: Try rushing stables (and then mazes) instead of building barracks. Ideally you shouldn't ever have to build more than 2 swordsmen because you'll be building knights instead.

This is kind of a dumb little game but it's fun as hell. I enjoy the puzzle of trying to beat the game with different civs.
