Robot Wants Kitty was one of my favorite Metroidvania games ever. It had everything a game like it should.
Robot Wants Puppy is not a fun game. It is a terrible sequel with many problems. First off, you spend way too long weaponless starting out. Imagine if you started Metroid without your gun and no health bar. Dying on your way to defending yourself is not fun. Speaking of the weapon, the cat tossing is badly designed. Attacking your foes shouldn't make them more dangerous to you. Being killed while your cat is attacking your foe is some stupid BS. Also, it takes way too long to get the cat whistle. Throwing your cat and missing and having to go get your cat again is not fun. If anything, the cat whistle should be the first powerup you get and just have you start out with the cat toss. Also, why does the cat just sit there if I throw it and miss? Can't it at least act like a land mine to attack foes that walk by? I really hope your next game is more like RwK than RwP
That was a lot of fun. It was short, but that's not that bad. I love the upgrade and powerup system (Is it even possible to be fully upgraded by the end of the game?) and the pause function, while disjarring at times was effective in retaining mouse sensitivity.
This is a lot of fun and all, but really it's pretty grindy starting out. Upgrades are few and far between and you have little control starting out.
Once you get going though, it's a lot of fun.
