Add add Long-Range missiles(LRM)s to the game. So that it can travel between planets and bombard them with longer range than fleets. Each missile can be equip with a regular cluster bomb, or a shield killing fusion bomb or toxic warheads to devastate population or simply contaminate your enemies nearby planets.
Add carriers too since the range is hard to get to your opponent without using tons of research of lvl.10 and etc. So the ships could fit in Long range carriers that transport ships like mega carriers.

Add miner ships to harvest asteriods that could be implemented into the game or simply add recylcers that recycle space wreckage sent back to planets on a frigate. God, i have so much visions for this game.
oooohh, i like that. barren planets that require u to off world harvest. u would have to use frigates to collect resources. that would make for a good campaign map.
If your facing hard opponents, first thing you should is to research colony ships and make them. While doing that, get social, farm, ecology, government and 4 levels of resource buildings. As soon as you finish get the colony ships out and start getting lots of scouts, then fighters so you can stop the first wave. After that get your third colony and start getting bombers and heavier shields. don't attack at all during this time. Your enemy probably gunna have several planets attacking all at once. Now get at least 200 bombers and tons of fighters to attack one of the planets. Keep upgrading shields!!! The enemy will get so strong late game that they will attack you by thousands in strength(estimating, cause i never survived that long to see 2K). Keep researching as fast as possible. The amount of time to take on a hard opponent and kill it is about 2-5 hours(slow mode,) if your an average like me. You can shorten the time to 1hour if you turbo it.
Add giant planets that can support up to 600 or higher and resource planets. In order to get to these planets, you need good research, or upgrades, or certain numbers of colony ships. Just a suggestion. XD
i actually plan on doing campaigns, the code is already in the game for 'Mission Complete' I wanted to get the map editor going first so I can make maps easier. get ready, update in 30 minutes.
Make this multi-player please. The game is very strategic and nice too. I think you should add crystal refinary once you research enough. Because crystal shortage is a lot.
i can do the FS, but i'm not quite skilled enough as a programmer to pull off MP yet. i would love to though. maybe after i get every thing balanced, polished, and stable, i will look into what it would take. at best, i may be able to do 1vs1's
You should add upgrades to your general, since its a bit too weak. If a 3 Veteran swordsmen level 2 can kill my General. Its practically worthless, aside from the fact that it is just a slightly overpowered version of the Veteran Swordsmen. So I suggest you add a class for each general you choose. Like an archery class where your general shoots arrows, or a tank where it absorbs all the damage with its heavy armor and attacks slowly. Something like this would help a lot in the boss fights despite that your General itself is not the tide changer.
