So after a short while, the game never generated any obstacles...just straight tunnel, black screen, straight tunnel, black screen, etc...didn't move my cursor, and 3 minutes later free hard badge. Game failed to bring any challenge but I'm not objecting lol
This game was, I'll be honest-ironically like what you had to be in the breaking the news decision-terrible in almost every way(except the illustration portion, spot-on as far as simplicity goes). The only thing that mattered in the end wasn't your actual decisions, but instead the exact number that influenced whether or not it was successful. How was I, or anyone on their first playthrough, supposed to know that in order to make them successful you had to have enough of a certain stat? I'm sure most thought(incorrectly) that you had to balance each in order to have the best outcomes and improve morale. Only reason I got the neutral ending was because I looked at walkthroughs halfway into the game. If the lesson-if there was one-was to always do the right thing-it completely failed to get across, because most of the time in real life, it won't earn you respect and will get you killed. This would look INCREDIBLE as an arcade game. I mean, I gave this version a 4/5 because of decent gameplay, good songs, and most importantly, appearance and graphics. Not much would need to be changed to make this available in arcades, and i'm pretty sure it would be successful, too.
The real creator of the series is BlackDevilX from Newgrounds. I hope someone can convince him to upload the rest of the FFSX games here, because I hate having to venture to Newgrounds to play them.
I finally beat the game on Epic difficulty. It isn't all that hard; I rarely had to change equips at all. The trick is to Use Reflex after Protect and Barrier, then Flare. It can render the rune claws and the evil worm/tail almost useless, but not so much for Akron, as his debuff limit for all stats is -20%. Game already got a 5/5 and a favorite from me, now to do the same things with the 4th one.
If anyone was wondering what the battle song titles were, They are "Rose at Dawn", Rose at Midnight, and Rose at Nightfall, in that order, all by NemesisTheory. Also, the game only needs one badge, and if I were in charge, it would be a medium one called "World's Greatest Adventurer After All", and it would simply require beating the game. Speaking of the game, its a great and funny one that deserved a 5/5 from me.
I love this game so much that, even when after I got all the badges, I returned just to beat it on Epic. One of the easiest 5/5 and favorites I could have given as well, knowing that it's guaranteed to be the best of 2013 and all.
You need 201 badges just to get the next title, which is badge avoider. You obviously don't "avoid" badges when you work so hard for about 2 months getting 3-4 badges per day average for the server to indicate that you avoid them.
Best stock of pots to get from first shop: 5 potions, 2 max potions, 3 ethers, 1 max ether, 7 antidotes, 4 WOLs, 3 attack potions, 3 magic potions, and 2 bombs. You will have nothing left over, but use them wisely, as you only have $7K for the other shop.
Miniboss Guide on epic/Golem:It has 250K HP, with 4 attacks.1: Occurs when it switches to ice elem.;kills one if he/she is unprotected but if they survive, they take 70+% and it freezes him or her(no problem if you have regen.). 2: Occurs when it switches to fire elem.; rains fireballs dealing 1000 each to both. 3: attack with his ash blade, dealing 6500 to one and lowering magic defence. 4: attack with his ice fist, dealing the same dmg. as the ash blade and lowering defence. The golem can also summon 2 types of helpers. 1 is an Ice bit, which only has a basic attack with the chance to freeze. The other is a fire bit, which self destructs itself on its first turn, dealing 8000 to both! Matt should use only his non-elemental physical attacks(attack, revenge, drain, windslash, and legend) to get the "counter" upgrade. Make Natz use Lucky Star(when there's no helper) and Pulsar(when there is) to get "Astrology" or "Astrology x2" depending on if you did this in the previous wave.
