whats the point of the splash damage on the inferno? by the time the next enemy gets close the splash does nothing to them

just driving straight on terrain 4...oh goodbye carts 2 and 3...no hills or bumps...they just ran away
cars r fun...went for about half a mile by bouncing off the same exact car
y does he take the elevator when the stairs r clearly closer and quicker sometimes
