Still loading after about 5 minutes on what I'd say is a excellent computer. Oh well, from your comments it sounds like a good game, I'll wait to rate it and if I can't get on, I won't rate it low or anything.
On The Not-So Vast Forest level, I found a way which didn't require you to get the extra lives skill. All you do is place as many warriors on the map as you can, and when they level up, pick poison, then on the next level, pick the move which makes you able to hit the enemys strength. Then, every time somebody levels, just level them in generalism and then continue the path. Once you've levelled them, just place down more warriors and so on.
