For the number of evolution choices, your ship is basically decided when you choose bullets or shield. There also seemed times where to choose one option over the other would be stupid. (Why would I get 2 forward disk shots when i can get 4 diagonal shots?) Over all, a very solid game.
The secret to ultimate power is to beat the game multiple times in one sitting. Do all the quests, and you get the weapons an infinite number of times. You know you've played long enough when you beat wooly in a fraction of a second.
They made a sequel to this game, only added a few new power ups and sprites, and still have not implemented a warning for when the lasers change directions. I am dissapoint.
Let's make it so you can only jump a distance slightly farther than one spike length! yah! then, we can make levels designed around jumping over spikes! and to top it off, lets give them shoddy collision detection! I'm sure they won't have to see the entire level at one time either.
1) there are always two gaps, usually about the same size
2) since you don't always start in the middle and the edges don't wrap around, some gaps are inaccessible
3) I dislike the need to jump around obstacles when focusing on where the gap is.
All in all, Mr. Space on the app store does it much better.
I'm a deadly worm. Don't make me chase my prey. And DON'T force me to attack them from behind, then have them run against a wall facing me. Don't run them into "Territorial" enemies either.
I noticed several things after two playthroughs:
1. sometimes your people die, sometimes they delevel. the difference is whether or not they keep their magic items.
2. If you have too many people going through one part of the dungeon, you're screwed. any more than 4, and its impossible for anybody to level enough to make it very far.
3. Character movement sucks. sometimes, they randomly turn around. if they come to a straight or a turn, they are more likely to take the straight, making left or right decisions the only way to split you're party.
In my opinion, theere should be directors that alternate between two paths, making it easier to split parties to even out exp.
I, for one, did not like this game. first of all, my computer is WAY too slow to play it. 10 minutes of playing the first level translated to 195 seconds for the badge (which I will not earn, since playing this game again will take way too much time at this speed). secondly, there's too many blind leaps for my taste. I want to see where I'm jumping so I can respond if my jump is too far (like it was at the end of the second level on the second to last platform). which brings me to my third point: the "scout" view should be the normal view. the fact that you have to hold "scout" while standing still just to see the next platform is rediculous. I didn't finish the third level out of frustration, but from what I have read the ending is disappointing and rascist (although it is nice to see rascism on light skinned people).
4/5. I found this game fun, although never truly challenging. I always completed the levels on either my first or second try. The entire game took me about an hour. the ghost rooms seemed like a completely unnecessary add in, and although impressive in programming I disabled them before the game did so automatically and never turned them back on. all in all. +graphics, +fun, -difficulty.
