i think the color is ok, i find that the shape (the variation of thickness in the font, i suppose) is what impairs the reading. also, i suppose you are right, there may be a way of reducing the amount of text, because as it is, it gives the impression that the game is too complicated, perhaps you could summarise it better and or make it more visual…
