18th mission is very easy. The three lasers completely obiliterate all opposition. You just have to rush the motherships(about 40 or 50 per mothership is a good number).
An excellent game, 4/5. The graphics are stylish, the storyline is solid and the gameplay is smooth, almost inuitive. The only detractor is the difficulty of finding secret passages, though JupiterFist's tactic is useful. Tadpole Mode is now much more fun! :)
The problem with the AI is that it overextends constantly. In some levels, if I was playing against a human, I would have been crushed. But the AI insists on sending weak fleets to all my worlds. The fleets are easily beaten off, then I consolidate and take it out one by one. I only attack several worlds when each fleet is at least 10 ships stronger than the strongest world.
This game needs two things:a level editor and the ability to make it such that all ships produced from X planet immediately fly to Y planet. It can really be useful in the last level when you want all the ships from the Shipyard to fly to the selected launching point for a mothership-attacking fleet.
Here is how to complete the last level, the one with the three motherships.
1)Wait for the colonization of Earth to complete
2)Immediately start colonizing the lasers. Move all the ships to the half-colonized middle laser. Once it's finished, move all the ships to the second laser, and then to the third laser.
3)Neutralize anything that the aliens may have colonized. Leave a small detachment of ships to colonize them.
4)Seize the Shipyard. This is a cake walk if all the lasers are yours.
5)Gather about 30-40 ships and have them all charge at one of the motherships. The motherships have no way to counter-attack because of the shipyard and lasers.
6)Repeat step 5 until you win.
XfrostguardX use the Graboid/Shrieker rush deck. 19 Earth Pillars, 5 Shriekers, 6 Graboids, and Mark of Time. Evolve the graboids as fast as possible and rush the enemy. You can win Elders in 10< turns.
