I like action-puzzle hybrids, and the graphics are cute and very professional, but the details of the platforming mechanic were very frustrating. I constantly missed jumps because I wasn't exactly on the edge, or pressed jump too late, or hit my head on a platform above. I also got hit a few times when I couldn't dodge after shooting. These could be overlooked in easier levels, but as the game progressed, my control over the character wasn't up to the challenge of the game. A more agile, responsive blob would have made this really fun.
This is one of the most difficult games I've ever finished, but it was so good I stuck with it. The challenges are fiendish, but short enough and less repetitive than most in this genre. I never did have the controls "sink in," and still hit the wrong key on my second playthrough; customization would help a bit. Overall it's very solid, though, in a genre where it's easy to go wrong and have game-breaking problems. Congrats!
Interesting blend of concepts; I think there's a fun game to be made here, although you're not there yet. The camera's zoomed in too close, making exploration tediously slow, or too easy to blindly run into enemies if you go faster. (Combining this with no health refills adds insult to injury.) The levels aren't that interesting on their own -- they look randomly generated -- and the enemies aren't fun to fight -- I can shoot stationary targets from usually-awkward angles, or get mowed down by really fast guys who come out of nowhere. Best wishes for future updates.
Like an easier, simpler version of REDDER, one of my favorite Flash games of all time. Really nice control scheme, the jumping and wall-jumps were spot on. Kudos to you, a nice implementation of a great genre.
Much better pacing and progression than the first: the additional powers came at a perfect time. As in the first, the art is characteristically beautiful and the controls are spot on, natural and responsive. This time the challenge and gameplay matches the engine's promise: thank you!
Wonderful level designs... good puzzle challenge without cheesy reflex-based elements, like so many similar games. A terrific puzzle platformer and very cute/clear art, great job guys!
I gave up on level 7, at the earth power. While mouse-based arc aiming is common in Flash games, it's especially awkward combined with a moving camera, and aiming a shot with only a few seconds before falling is frustrating, not fun. There's also a delay between hitting the green circle and having the platform appear, so I fell right through the materializing platforms a few times before shelving the game for good. Awkward controls and exacting precision are excusable in a pure puzzle game, but this is the opposite of a sweet spot between puzzles and action. I can tell effort and love went into this game, but the end product doesn't gel for me.
This series gets more polished each time, nice job SilenGames! The difficulty balance was just right, not too boring or too frustrating. Oh, and for those having trouble with the combo badges, try level 10.
I gave up when I got to the teleport level. My units kept getting stuck on the "far" side of the teleport, without any way to get back into the battle. Could be really fun if it were more polished, without annoyances like dragging the base when you don't want to -- the levels are too hard for the sloppy controls.
This is NOT a game. This is a rudimentary experiment at using Flixel, and has no interesting graphics, challenges, or goals. Next time, djthegrim, keep this to yourself until it develops into something anyone would actually want to play.
Levels are challenging but satisfyingly so -- the solutions needed are really clever! The controls work quite well too. My only suggestion would be to unlock more than one level at a time, so you can switch to a different puzzle if you're stuck on one. (I went and replayed the original to give my brain a break from one tricky level.) Looking forward to 3D Logic 3!
Cool, it's certainly not for everyone. You should be lucky we didn't add in jumping in mid-air (which has been requested by people on here, btw)
