DKW, I powered my way through the game with the first 3 heroes, so there isn't fight where the 4th or 5th heroes are needed. I'll admit snake guy killed my party once because I wasn't expecting him to start charging and was lagging a little. Selena looks pretty essential to somebody going through their first play-through though.
Crazy idea here, I know, but how about when we quit, we go to the defeat screen? I didn't really want to try to break down 3k HP, was hoping common sense was already coded into the game. However, this game is excellent, nice job! :D
It's a sad day in gaming when the all the top comments in a CCG are about how surprised/happy players are that it's not "Pay to Win". This is a great game, and I sure am glad that it doesn't have a pay model in it, but I wish this was the norm rather than the exception.
Honestly, the last boss is tldf (too long, didn't fight). Was gaining health instead of losing in stage 1 figuring out how exactly to fight it, stage 2 was also going well and I figured that would be the end, and then there's a stage 3? Maybe I'll come back and beat it after badges, but currently it's just too time-consuming.
Agreeing with the rest of the comments so far, it just needs to be fleshed out a bit more so people could play it for more than 10 minutes before winning. Slower progression, upgrades, and some sort of infinite mode after winning would all help.
bunch of complaining casuals. "Oh noe the game isn't easy enough!" Maybe try some different units? Or pick smarter upgrades? Or I don't know, learn to play better?
Shame there was no ending cutscene (or any sort of ending), even after winning against the contender fight. My championship fight was vs 3 defenders - not sure if random or game hates me. :D
Feels like maybe 1/3rd of the things in this game don't work right. The 'advantage of one item over another' only considers max damage instead of average. New gladiators still have only 10 speed (etc) instead of whatever is written. Spears used by the enemy throwers critical like crazy without any special buffs, but I don't remember the last time I saw my 2hander land a crit (if ever) despite now having 5 points in the +critical chance skill. Speed only affects initial turn order, and my 55 speed guy attacks as often as my 5 speeder.
Running with Liverpool in first place with everton being by far the best AI team in 2nd place, they narrowly defeat us in a tournament prior and in the match right after we absolutely destroy them with a 1-8 game, rofl. Feels great.
Level 30 made me suffer a bit, but other than that the game was pretty fun/easy. Some of the random levels in the 60-70% difficulty area were almost unplayable and the later ones were actually quicker to beat lol. Overall, game well-made. 5/5 and a fav from me, since it's the sort of thing I might like to come back and replay sometime.
