As pretty much everyone has said already, If upgrades aren't going to carry over, then there definitely needs to be a fix in the way coins are awarded. This is seriously compounded by the need to save them for later levels, where it gets more difficult, but then also needing to spend them upgrading in earlier levels just to make it physically possibly to achieve all the medals needed to unlock later levels. The difficulty simply a really jarring jump when normal can be completed with no damage, using no upgrades, but the next difficulty cannot be beaten without upgrades; health and shields be damned. It's a fun little game for what it's worth, but there just is not enough there to warrant this kind of frustration, with the only alternative being to stress out about making the late-game impossible without hours of grinding.

It's a fun little game, very polished, however for some reason very few of my melee attacks seem to connect, and jump attacks are right out. I find it a lot more reliable to deal damage with a gun, and I'm fairly certain that is not intended. I'm not using the most fantastic computer on the planet (a cheap laptop I got for schoolwork), so I do experience a little bit of slowdown, but not much. maybe it could be related to that? And before it gets pointed out, no, the attacks are not being blocked, or at the least they aren't going into the block animation.
