@ElliotKane
I did complete the Hog Rider line without using rubies, a few days before the end. I cannot tell of any special trick, just the amount of time one wastes on the game :)
This being said, did you think of using the potions (Liquid Rainbow) so that you don't need to produce so many intermediate elements?
Instead of 3-->1, 5-->2 and so on, you can use (2+LR)-->1, (4+LR)-->2, etc.
So the end of the chain of production switches from (for example):
1
This game gets really, really tedious after some time. The micro-management is way too massive. And no shiny animation or fancy noise for each click you do can hide that.
Same for me, Elliot. I was playing when the original time counter ran out, I don't know if that caused a bug for me, or if it is global. Were you playing then?
Ah, for me it was working fine until it was not loading at all; no in-between. Anyway, now, it has been back on for several hours. Perhaps it was related to AWS (Amazon's Cloud) being down, dunno.
@Phoebie: since it's been present for many years, the out-of-memory bug has become more of a feature now :-D. But yes, one of the many bugs in this game version which prevent loading or make the game crash after just a few minutes. It is always present but it has been particularly bad for the last 2 or 3 weeks.
Level 20: First I tried to play regularly (trying to control all lights by hand and "backing up the traffic too long"), then I tried to use just luck (setting all green, brought me to "1 car left" once), and finally I settled on a mix: rely on luck for the 4 rightmost lights set to permanent green, and concentrate on just controlling the single leftmost light. It worked in about 10 tries.
Guys, I believe that this dawn that you are talking about, is when you get the "gold x2" powerup, the correct thing to get this powerup is to show how far your reach to get the coins. There are several particles that occur within that aurora as if they were minuscule explosions. For this, your browser's WebGL must be enabled. Please keep me informed about this, and if possible send me a screenshot of the game at the time it happens. Thanks.
Got a black screen with a message "To play games on Kongregate, you must have Javascript enabled!", after playing the first level and going into the Skills screen.
Noscript only reports the kongregate.com domain asking for JS, and it is allowed.

Ah! A new update, which mean a new way to crash the game. I mean, an *additional* way, of course, since old ways are still 'working' as well as they have been 'working' for years.
First time in 10 years that I see Windows 7 OOM Killer in action, and I have run many shitty programs during that time. But this one takes the cake. Congrats on the developers for managing to leak gigabytes of memory every time the game runs. That's quite an achievement.
We will check this RAM consumption, but so far any of our players happen to this. So please, have sure you did not have others process running in your PC at the same time.
I usually despise clickers and idle games, but this one might deserve a badge or two.
It has varied enough mechanisms to keep busy/entertained. A bit of clicking, a bit of upgrading/levelling up, a bit of choice, a bit of puzzle.
This a great old-school platformer! It made me feel young again :-D
Minor nitpicks:
1. I am not sold on the SFX and the music. Concerning the music, it is not bad, but I am not sure it is a good match. The SFX are a bit crackling or something, not top quality I think.
2. I more or less agree with others about checkpoints, but I think just 2 or 3 levels deserve 1 single extra checkpoint (one is Paths, another one an earlier level, and then the final level). For 2 reasons: firstly because learning sequences until you master them enough is part of a good experience in this type of game, and a little bit of frustration makes also success much more rewarding, and secondly because in most levels there are cleverly located safe spaces where you can rest (a level is not a big non-stop sequence).
But overall, I repeat: great old-school platformer, really.
I can't rate this game: as all other Crounchy games, it has great graphics, great atmosphere, and good ideas; but as all other Crounchy games, the performance is abysmal on all my setups. In this case I managed to complete the game after I restarted it half a dozen times, but for a few other games they would become totally unplayable at some point and I wouldn't be able to complete them.
I don't know what engine you use and why it is always so slow.
Dommage...
It's hard to answer you because you're right, our games run low on old cpu & laptop. Especially Shamaniac & A Knots Story, I hope Revenge of dog & Kristov Colin run faster. We are sorry about that, we'll try to make it lighter on our future games.
The game was quite good for just 2 weeks, and then a few players bought premiums and now it is as unplayable and unbalanced as RCF :-( (even worse on maps with no spawn protection).
