Trying to effectively play the Rivi'i make two bugs apparent:
1st) who gets to do damage during a Rally or, instead, how am I supposed to know that a ship has a turn and I can't buff a Battlecruiser and then use rally (aka: documentation bug)
2nd) There was some odd race condition I saw about playing a DN next to a BC meant the BC thought its turn had gone and couldn't buff until I selected a fuel ship and hit ESC.
I've texted my card playing friends about this game. We love it. Thanks. Keep it this simple!
Blood Magic ftw: extra high attack, extra high defense, curse to max, increase special to max, and then you can always get through the defenses with some bolts and get your curse on. Even the fire mages are a bit wimpy when they're -9 base power. Keep your life low, cast Trade Life, and then Blood drain: win.
The best factories are the ones you start with. Find a way to ramp up the difficulty or vary it - make the computer sell off factories once in awhile and reorganize its base; something - just, the endurance level was easy. I setup three Greens, eleven greys and went to sleep. I had $87k in the morning.
I like storyline, too, but it just kept going and going; tldr. The irony that the robots kept polluting was there and understated, but trim the rest. Go for quality and concise.
Nice game
This quote, by itself, made it worth my time:
"An evil villain has summoned a meteor that will hit the earth in 3 minutes. We need a group of highly experienced magicians to hold the meteor in place while our Spikey-haired hero gets over his depression over the loss of a loved one through side quests, before he finally seeks vengeance!
-Desperate People of Meatgard"
Same bug - went away for 2 hours and came back, then it just cycled immediately to build after the start of a wave. Didn't have eye active so they were just tearing my tower down and nothing was firing. Yeesh. Did just cycle through the last 6 levels and win, though :)
I'd enjoyed this until, on the sixteenth race, an "accident" happened in the pit and I was there for more than 100 seconds before I hit "refresh." If I was supposed to be there longer, give me feedback on how long it'll be. If it was a bug, fix it.
'survive to kill' owns here. defense tree first, then stun then crits then medusa tree. use that shield. yay...
Seemed like I could farm if I went slow enough.
kinda bored.
At the same time, doing a Last Stand right is awesome fun - see 300, read up on the Battle of Thermopylae; alternatively, a well-executed ambush works too - read up on the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest.
The "execute move" button needs to be un-doable, or recognize when you haven't made any orders. You're doing a bunch in this game and it's quality, but content doesn't automatically make it fun. "Survive 75 days" doesn't seem like anything but a last stand. Give me something to strive for.
