@chilese: as i said, this wasn't serious testing. on some maps it will be better to chose the 20% build speed upgrade over the 10% energy upgrade. it's just rare. it sounds contradictory at first. but think about when do the 2 upgrades take effect: the 10% energy upgrade is ALWAYS on. the 20% build speed upgrade is only on IF you build and WHEN you build. it only makes the build packets come out 20% faster from the city, so you still have to wait for the last packet to travel with normal speed to the building site, and only after that you can send new packets there - and use the 20% bonus only for the production time from the first packet to the last.

@SmileyFaucet: use the pause: key "p" or click on the pause button. @chilese: mostly it's better NOT to build near the first location of the city, except on some rare maps.
