@Marhari are you a beginner? I think this is the first time I see you here. You're right about the difficulty level of those two maps, the 16th is a little harder than the 18th. XxgamiconxX's solution is what I did. Use mortars wisely, move them (loaded) away to far targets and then come back to your network to load after you smashed some deep pools. You'll need to get used to toggle keys A and Q on weapons, A will allow the weapon to load but not fire, Q will deactivate them fully (no build packets, no ammo packets, no shots fired). Build only as much as you can power, always watch your available energy and production. Toggle key P to pause and give orders while paused. Use the 3 coloured orbs on the city. Have a look at the tutorials I linked on my profile description.

@Maybeso83 we short the Rain_King Challenge to RKC. The challenge was first made by Rain_King a long time ago. The rules of RKC are NBM, no reactors, no drones. We always read the game time on the chart after the game, not at portal start. RKC "lite" is "move the base just once" and then RKC.

@Maybeso83 I just noticed this... if you round pi to 3.1416 and you round your time on NBM to full minutes, you get the digits of pi: 3/14 16 :)

If you enjoy micro management (with a lot of orders given while the game is paused) you might wanna try survival mode, based on what Balbanes wrote, with these changes: Don't use drones. Don't pull back rows of your weaponry, don't retreat, but instead pull back individual blasters one by one from the front line only when they loose almost all HP (nearly destroyed) so they can slowly be repared (automatic repair if not touched by creeper). Have reserve blasters to put in place instead of the damaged ones you pull back. You need 32 energy output when the city hovers, no less, not much more, since the game can not use more than 32 depletion. Have the city near to the front, but leave empty fallback positions for the end game when the creeper destroys everything. Build storage and speed nodes and straight delivery routes to the front before survival mode. When you can't hold your position capping the emitters in survival mode, you don't have much more time...

@EricFleet the map editor should be included when you install the original CW game from knucklecracker.com and you can use it as soon as you install the game. Have a look at your desktop for the map editor's startup short cut. It should be named CreeperMap.lnk or similar. When you created a map from it, you can save it, test run it from the game, and if you succeed to win it you can upload it for everyone to play on knucklecracker.com/creeperworld/viewmaps.php where people can comment on it. Also, anyone can choose to upload their best game time on your map's download site. No cheating since the game does the posting as far as I can tell but I don't know how to hack. I uploaded 3 maps by the name iMiZR1.

@EricFleet, true. The NBM challenge only does make sense on a narrow band of levels which are hard enough but not impossible to win without relocation. Even less maps are good for the RKC. I think we could generalise this constraint to most challenge types. E.g. a creeper emitter can be near a totem on top of a high hill. That could be unlikely to win on APO. But I think the Ocean Challenge is the exception. If it does make sense to wait for the map to fill up with creeper around you on top of a high hill, you can still definitely win by choosing the right weapons to start with. This is why the OC is always a best time challenge like a regular game.

@Balbanes, sorry man I made the mistake of not looking at your name at that comment, since I was quite a bit pissed off about the slew of complaints from these noobs. My bad. I apologize. I know if you write "screenshots or video or it didn't happen" it's meant with a playful, joking attitude and your goal is to improve your skills. I know that you respect hawk45. Best regards.

@Maybeso83, there's no other place than this comment section to ask about the game. But about 6 of the most experienced players (including me) will be glad to answer to any question in plenty of detail if asked with good manners. I don't mean this as any criticism against you. I appreciate that you asked respectfully. Ask a question. Even if I don't see it, I'm sure chilese, hawk45 and many others will be glad to answer. We love this game.

It's kind of funny how a troll like MT believes that we get all worked up when we see his comments. I expect many of us just click on that downvote without even reading his comments. After a little frustration at the beginning it just becomes a routine without any emotional consequence. He does invest a lot of his time though. The troll is the only one who does lose energy on trolling. This is why people call him a loser. He doesn't get it.

@Balbanes on your comment from 12/3. Rest assured, I downvote his every comment since years and I feel like I won some kind of score when mine was the third downvote that concealed his comments. I think I'd win that competition :) Nowadays I come here to read everyone's comments only once in a while. I keep track of which ones did I read by voting on every comment here, no exceptions. And it's rare that I downvote, except for his BS.

If you struggle with the 8/12 RKC have a look at this video about strategy, tactics and micro management http://tiny.cc/cw-tutorials-2017-04-16 At start you need to plan the timing of every collector to use your cash of energy effectively.

8/12 - 15:07 on RKC. My first try http://imgur.com/a/ssGdF My guess is at least 3 minutes of RFI, maybe 5 with aggressive magic micro management :) Just saying, you might wanna beat me on this one ;) Spores from west. You don't need as many speed nodes as I built. 5 to 7 might be best. Maybe 3 or 4 storages. Put storage and speed nodes where they make packet routes shorter. UPGRADES: energy, cost, range, 20% speed in this order, but this might not be the best possible choice. There was not much resistance to branch out simultaneously to both near elevated areas at start. No gimmicks, just good energy management at start. 2 + 1 blasters built as late as possible to guard the low lying chains. 1 mortar as late as possible to prevent overflow from west. Few bombing runs asap to the western pool. Then capping the northernmost emitter. Bombing runs to the southern pool continuously. Conquest of the near low level. Dominance by safely building energy overflow.

@funkytown69 If you plan to finish FAST there's not enough time to get as much profit from it as from the cost upgrade. If all you build is only 9 collectors then there are many reasons why the cost upgrade is better. Your collectors are built faster, since they only need 9 packets. They start producing energy that much earlier. All build packets travel short distances anyway and you use all your energy asap to build energy production, so the seeming lack of continuous advantage does not exist. The 10% energy upgrade only allows you to build that fast if you already do produce more energy. At start you need fast and cheap building. The 10% build cost uprgrade might be even better than the 20% build speed upgrade. It depends how many collectors do you need and also the layout of your network. The 20% speed might be better if you have nothing else to build but a long chain and for some reason can't move the city closer.
