@chilese: thanks :) to not spend ammo packets, you have a few options: to disarm a weapon, you have to select that weapon and then either hit "a" on your keyboard, or click the "disarm" button in the lower left corner of the game screen. this option will still load that weapon up to full ammo, but it won't fire. alternatively, you can hit "q" or click "deactivate" that one weapon. this will stop it both firing and loading. the 3rd option is to hold ammo packets to all weapons by a click on the city's red button.
this is what i mean by "speed nodes don't make you fast": it's better to fly near the building site. example on the 3rd June map, finishing time 7:24 http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/5519/201306030724.jpg and you DON'T have to BUILD a CONNECTION to all TOTEMS. the city is TOUGH :) if you send it to the last totem, it will not explode if the creeper is not very deep, so you can get a time like 6:45 on the same map: http://img580.imageshack.us/img580/1033/201306030645.jpg If the creeper is too deep, you would need to hover the city over this last connection by sending it there, let it almost land and then repeat this: send it somewhere else, but land it back just before it would move away ;)
it does not pay off to build much SPEED NODES. it's way better to fly the city near the building site or to the attacked target. the first speed node gives you a good speed boost: about 28% more speed (22% less time to send packets). but mostly it's easier to fly the city 22% closer to the target. to get double speed you’d need to build 4 speed nodes (comparison with no speed nodes). that takes too much time to build. do it ONLY if the city can’t be moved half way to the target. to triple the speed you need a total of 8 speed nodes. THAT TAKES too much building TIME for too little effect. http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/6062/speednodes.jpg on this graph the horizontal axis is the number of speed nodes, on vertical axes are time quotients: on the upper graph the total time divided by the normal traveling time, lower graph: yellow - time with one less nodes divided by time with actual nodes, blue - time gain (fitted) for the same. i used a complicated fitting function
you know what? at least 6 peeps rated up, so i will care about them. i will show them any info they want. the others can rate down until their finger falls off :) lol
Someone asked me this in a personal message: "Is there some kind of “trick” or strategy to sending packets?" I will answer it here for everyone if you are interested. If you wanna know, rate this message up. If the rating goes up to 10+ I will take the time to tell you info you definitely don't know - example: something about the number of speed nodes.
btw after 60 minutes, after the survival mode switches automatically on, the emitter output grows by 100 every 15 minutes. check it below the "play more" button: http://img585.imageshack.us/img585/2100/dep285coll438def460ener.jpg http://img854.imageshack.us/img854/6111/dep300coll437def40ener2.jpg
@cammanderWho: it didn't raise the depletion when i built
110 speed nodes!
with 2069 energy, deficit 425 and collection 43.8,
the depletion is still only 32. now it's official, 32 is the upper limit:
http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/7796/dep320coll438def4250ene.jpg
@cammanderWho: with 569 energy, deficit 253 and collection 95.7, the depletion is still only 32. i think, 32 is the upper limit: http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/9537/dep320coll957def2530ene.jpg
@cammanderWho: dtoad's idea may help up to a limit. i think 32 is the built-in limit for the depletion. i tested it with 30 speed nodes and energy storage up to 600. i kept the energy at almost maximum - see on the pic - and pushed the collection as high as possible. with 569 energy and collection 61.3, the depletion is only 32. it didn't go up while building the last 10+ speed nodes and 10+ storage nodes: http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/8896/dep320coll613def17450en.jpg
@Thecis: yeah, right. they didn't rate down just the picture series, but EVERYTHING, and at the most our communication about best times. so, no, you are completely wrong about spamming. it's about childish, stupid envy. what is this message thread for if not talking about the game results or "how to" tips? you think the best post was "yellow" (jhasygirl1234) or "this game sucks" (MariaB41) or what? no kidding, to set up a website? for who? for those who didn't bother to communicate any other way but just generously clicking on the minus rating? or you mean those who didn't care to click or write anything? maybe i would have done something like that, but you all don't deserve any of my time. have your fun ALONE! i'm going to have fun WITH people.
@blim76: you hit the "p" on your keyboard as soon as you see the map. switch off the green spot on the city. place the network: http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/2955/20130430a.jpg hit "p" again, wait until the first 2 collectors are almost built and check if you do have enough energy to built 2 next collectors simultaneously. with 7 you will have a slight energy deficit, or you decide to blow up the collector of the shorter chain while paused, pause off, wait for the first 2-3 build packets of the other collector, pause and put back the deleted collector to have no deficit. on this map it gained 1 sec to not blow up: http://img802.imageshack.us/img802/5514/20130430a2.jpg switch on the green button on the city when the last build packets are sent: http://img849.imageshack.us/img849/7695/20130430b.jpg and be happy about 1:11 this time :) http://img811.imageshack.us/img811/2708/201304300111.jpg http://img829.imageshack.us/img829/9251/201304300111t.jpg
@blim76: thanks! the placement is important, but the timing of each step is at least as much important. tip: plan your energy storage to be in the range 0 to 5 most of the time, and up to minus 2 to 7 rarely. outside this range only if you really need it to make the final punch. the initial buildup has to be in the 0-5 range. hey, do i sound like i care how i sound? :) do you want me to show you screenshots to the steps to get about 1:12?
FroztySilva, i don't even understand why anyone rates these texts down. we just talk about the game... if anything, it can help them that i show a map.
@blim76: i moved the base 2 times on the april 27 map.
@beragon: GOOD BOY! :D @Gricerocket & MobiusWhitetalon: try to green out the whole map in the shortest time! :) @madestuff: you are totally right, i am a prize plonker :D
