Sure the writing wasn't awful, and there was a copious amount of it, but that doesn't pull this game to greatness. The laser hit system is totally wack, half the walls in the game are glitchy and you can pass through them, and not to mention the lack of imagination in coming up with levels.
This is really just an unrefined game. Spells like Midas Touch and Fool's Gold bug quite often, the matching system ought to be fixed to include all the proper matches of 4/5/6 and the rare 7. The debt part may have given this game some purpose, but now that I've sunk roughly 35k into that I am forced to grind out an even larger sum of money for upgrades I need to beat the game.
I would like to see this game get harder in the puzzle department. It's never been an issue to figure out how to get the firefly or the path I have to take, but it's always making all the precise jumps that make this game difficult.
Neat bug, running around as a vamp/fighter on the second level and I go to charge the boss and I lag, but my xp bar fills until I hit level 9. Talk about awesome!
I understand we get to play the games for free, but if you're going to make it free, at least let me EARN all the stuff that you can pay for. I don't care if it's hard to earn, at least I have something to do other than get my badges and stop playing this slow game.
Easiest way I've found to beat the game: Any char will work, I went with Sisily because of her beginning Empathy advantage. Behemoth beast for the special move it has where it does massive damage and keeps you invulnerable while it's going. Stat allocations basically went, all into empathy and power, maxing out empathy first. I made 2 Dragon Heart. From there with your 600~ mana, spam the snot out of Obliterate when you want to down a boss, most die in 2. You can cast it as much as you want. Once I got Behemoth the game was cake.
Would be nice if they didn't turn around to attack units behind them... Impossible to advance units when you know you have stuff posted behind them for that purpose. I would like to ability to force units to IGNORE enemy units to get to a position just so I could actually make a tactical maneuver.
Prolly no one will see this due to the new PoS comment system, but I hate how this game's ending is just like every mega man game... -2 for that. 3/5 at best for an average clone/platform game
@BornToByte: I have a mac and have no problems running this in Safari. It only asks me to cancel the script if I'm not focused on the script for about 2 min and it just times out. So if you want to play the game, play it and hope you don't get interrupted
