A timer using a memory bank (currently 13 bit, but easily extendable). Behaviour as simple or as complex as you like can be programmed in (though things which have periods of the form 2^n are easiest). Currently set up to trigger a duplicator and then reset every 31 increments.

A simple carry adder (binary), add infinite strings if you can generate them. Currently set up for 8-bit input strings however.

Took me a while, but I finally figured out an algorithm to beat timed in under 10 minutes. Could probably do better with practice, but 8:56.95 is my record.
The only unfinishable level I've had after collecting all masks and artifacts (and getting a high score of 3689 gp) is one with no heroes at all before running into a row of adjacent or diagonally adjacent blocks that spanned the level width. Most others were either my own fault or a result of my equipment decisions (i.e. the available heroes didn't have "movement" skills).
I would like to see the default 'hero' have an ability or equipment, just to make getting the first hero easier, but I understand the design decision involved in not having one. 5/5
Minor bug: if you leave the bar after getting the yokel drunk and without using the marker, when you return he leaves. If you then use the marker, the demon scrawls his message on the table, at which point the sign reappears.
Am I crazy in thinking that this is nothing like Super Mario Galaxy? And that 3D is a very generous word for a game where the characters are just sprites?
Yeah, you should probably let users disable the various upgrades as well if you're going to have an achievement for which no upgrades is practically mandatory.
So you feed a bird a mixture of pure water, pure orange juice, and diluted orange juice (in that exact order no less) and it tweets the combination of the last safe? Yeah, you could have at least tried to have the puzzles make sense.
I found all the artifacts without doing methodical searching or getting any hints. Found a few of the "turn-in" sites as well, but damned if I can find them again.
Best time of 157 for level 3. Here's a hint: you don't need to climb all the vines near the start; get to the second vertical "strip", drop off the bottom and hold left to land unscathed at the next checkpoint. May take you several tries to learn where to drop.
