Great game, love it. Have you considered adding a "for fun" mode, where you can change settings like the time limit or the rounds limit (and board size) and make "private" games with friends, with no effect on leaderboard? Maybe it's still soon to implement it, since it would require more active players, but I think it may attract some of the less competitive or more shy players that would just enjoy playing it. I can also see myself playing this as a physical board game, just as "settlers of catan" or "dominion" (the deck builder)...
@venecarol If you get your second, third or fourth bet your cost decreases, so you lose less resources. Most people tend to bet over 10, unless they don't like the cards or they need to save for later rounds, so that's probably your case... Try using more resources to get the tiles you want.
Fun and original, though some leves can be hard on your eyes, specially on hard difficulty (lots of fast moving stuff in a disordered grid... even text in one of them). I'm not sure how it works on colourblind people, but I think the palette has enough contrast to work with (except maybe for the rainbow level). I don't think this game actually need instructions, it's actually a classic puzzle and clicking around a little bit should help figuring what you need to do. Most puzzles come without instructions, figuring them out is actually part of the game.
Wow, that was a fast response! The size feels better now, thanks. As for the game, I've been playing a while and it has a lot of potential, it feels like the old-schools rogelikes where you start with short games (mostly due to fast deaths) and then you star taking the idea of how the game mechanics work and start lasting longer. I sometimes still have the feeling that it has a heavy dependence on luck, but in this case I think it may be intended, and there are enough elements and mechanics that can help you counter your bad luck if you can calculate your chances and know how to use them. Quite literally rogelike poker, loved it.
Still too big, yes... around 600 px width would fit the "comments/related games" part of the screen, around 800px would fit in most screens and my own screen is 1280px (around 1250px without the scrollbar). The game appears to be around 1600px right now... not sure if it has updated yet, though, since it's the first time I play. If it has, scaling to half the size would be neat, I'm testing it with a 50% zoom. Settings button also seem to do nothing.
Ok, I stand corrected, there is oportunity cost at some point (not spoiling it). Still, maybe adding something more to do at early could help the game, many people may think the game is all the same and stop playing. Maybe just increasing/reducing some costs (depending if you want a more iddle focused or management focused game) could help. Would advise management focus, but I'm not really a iddle fan... nice overal game, anyway. Looking forward to the updates.
Great execution, but not so good concept for now. I loved the interface and graphic style, but feelt there wasn't really much to do, just buy the stuff as soon as I could afford and see the numbers grow. I know that's basically any iddle, but here for example a new factory renders every previous one obsolote almost automatically, and upgrades are really spaced away one from another in costs, so there is no real oportunity cost as you just buy as you are able to. I know it's a WIP, so maybe new features will be able to add these "decision problems", by adding some kind of management mechanics, but right now it still feels generic. Nice start point, tho.
@Alien_dude2 you don't actually need to "dance". The easiest way to solve the level (SPOILERS) is to press the button, stop time when the block starts moving, go to the edge, let time go, jump when the block is near and stop time again. Then the block should stop moving mid-air with it top face around ground level. From there, you can jump to the block and double-jump to the "exit".
@metrius if a game doesn't have a mute option, you can mute your browser's tab in most browsers, just right click the tab at the upper part of the screen and you should see the option. Note that it will remain muted in all kongregate tabs you open after that, so if you want your sound back, you'll have to deactivate it in the same way.
Found a small bug: monks "holly protection" increases its duration based on the number of monks you have, making it possible to cast it again before the previous one has expired. If you do so, both spells are shown, so you can see a specially bright holly protection animation, but when the older one expires, you will keep the animation of the new one, while you start receiving damage. It has an easy workaround, just wait until it wears off before casting again (or don't stack so many monks), but I think it may need to be noticed.
@disrighthereismy this game is actuallu not rng based, the only rng point in it is the multiplier at the bottom, but that's not needed to pass any stage (instead, you have to eat 30 sushi, which are always at the same spots). The only ways rng could be a problem are if you aim or a top score or if you aren't planning your shots. Granted, some shots are really hard and you may fail sometimes, but i don't think a game would be funny if it wasn't a challenge. I remember playing this a lot when i discovered it in 2013, 3 years after it was released, and i still love it today, but i recon it may be different to what we are used to nowadays...
@ChaoticAgenda it's actually ten seconds, both the minutes and the hours hands are pointing up, and the seconds hand (longest one) is the one moving... the LD theme was ten seconds, and that's the time you have to reach each checkpoint (as long as you hold each one until the cat stops moving the wrench)
@dragonhorn There is an option called "Expert Module View" in the options menu. If you activate it, the description of every module will include their stats (numerically) instead of the "bars" it usually show, including not only dimensions but also power use/generation, damage, health etc. Including the size on the basic view could be a little improvement, though...
@Blacksirius
Well, I don't see what's so strange on this game being old style, and it having "nothing new"... it's been here since 2008, so it is ten years old already. If it had something new, that would have been strange at least.
I suspect someone is rating down your messages because of your disrespect towards developers and the site, as most people here like kongregate or they would have gone somewhere else, so please, don’t think it’s some kind of conspiracy. It’s just a common opinion.
That said, I wish you a nice day, and hope you find a game you like.
Great game! There are a few bugs you should look into, though:
-Tetris pieces tend to get stuck when grabbing them, and the only way to undo this (that I'm aware of) is saving and reloading the page.
-Sometimes, info for a certain item doesn't load well. I guess it's just a visual bug, as it produces as much as it's supposed to at it's real version, but it shows the stats for version 0.0, and upgrading would make it show its real stats, except for the version, which will be 0.x (being x the number of upgrades you have done in this state) and the upgrading bar will be always full. I have a screenshot of this one here https://prnt.sc/hk0ogo
As for new features, I would add to the ones I've seen in the comments a way to buy exactly 1 mayor version (in the same way you can buy 1 update). Yes, I know that you can buy pretty fast by holding the button, but for people obsessed with exact numbers (just like me) that could be an improvement…
To everyone complaining about lag: this is an old game (from 2011). The first time I played this, it wasn't laggy, and I've seen this happen in every other "old" game I've played recently. I think it's because of some compatibility problems between versions of flash, so maybe downgrading it may solve the problem. In my case, that's not an option, as I need it updated, but if you really need the badge, and it's on a laggy old game you can't beat because of the lag, I would start by trying this.
Nice game, but just spotted a small bug... when you click "Restart level", the level counter goes back to "01" in all levels. It really doesn't matter, as you play the level you were playing and it goes back to the corresponding number when you pass the level, but... well, it's the only thing i can say for this game to get better ^^'
Really, nice game. And sorry for my bad english if i had some faults...
lerjj@ you need to solve the puzzle in the TV before doing that; when you solve it, there will appear some spots in the wall. Then you need to make a "complete drill" using the "egg beater" and the "drill bit", and make the holes with it. (Click in the spots with the drill selected)
Thanks for the feedback! Private rooms to play with friends is something we are thinking about.
