I think the pause penalty is there so you can't just hit pause on and off repeatedly to slow down the racer, right? If that's the case, it makes a lot of sense.
The game is not luck based-- the key is not to cover the whole playing field, but to only fill a section of it. That way you have time to control the space, and make the web really strong.
I really enjoy this game. Somehow it makes more intuitive sense to me than the first Hexiom with matching digits-- maybe because I think visually more than with numbers. But anyway, it's a nice variation and fun to play. Thank you!
The game is really fantastic. I don't know if it's just me, though, but my progress keeps being randomly erased, sometimes after a couple days, sometimes after an hour or two. This doesn't happen with any other game for me. It's frustrating to say the least.
Is there a pause button in this game? I'm not seeing it if there is, and if there isn't there really should be.
The fighting system is a little clunky, but I like the idea. The music in the menu is really pretty. Achilles might not have been the best choice, because he was invulnerable except for, of course, his Achilles heel. How about Hector instead?
It'd be nice if the 'world' screen listed the countries that have closed all means of transportation so you can easily see if you've lost the game without clicking around to check.
This game seems more luck based than skill based. I love the idea and it's fun, but it's frustrating when you can't do anything to succeed if Madagascar, or anywhere else for that matter, closes up shop on you early on.
The game was insanely difficult until I realized you could select all your cells at once by clicking and dragging over them, which made it extremely easy-- possibly even too easy. I don't recall the directions ever saying that you could do this.
Still, it's a really fun game!
I simply do not understand how to defeat the final boss. I thought we just hit the designated key when the sliding black square matched up with the picture of the key, but it doesn't seem to work.
The typing aspect of the game strikes me as too simple. Survival mode didn't seem to increase in difficulty or much in the frequency of attack. I just type and type and type and no one ever gets through. I may type fast, but I'm not exactly a prodigy, and it just seemed to easy.
Compared to the ease of typing in the levels, the precision of the final boss test seemed jarring. I could not figure out what it wanted me to do and didn't want to have to go through all the (to my mind, boring) typing to get to the boss again.
I like the look of the game, and the music, and the basic concept, but I do think these are concerns that effect the enjoyability of the experience.
I really liked Defend Your Castle, but somehow grabbing these more human-looking little people and throwing them to their bloody deaths didn't sit well with me. To me it felt a bit unpleasant. But other than my weak stomach, the game feels a bit too easy to me.
