Well it's true I see. I should of searched the web first before asking. It just boggles the mind that folks need to cheat in such simple games I'm guess just to get badges quickly or worse..just because they can. Say no to cheating. Let's have a real competition. 23 days is my best (I had 1 chance at 22). I'm guessing quicker is possible but not by much. A guy makes a great challenging game that's basically impossible to tell legitimate scores from the cheating ones unless they blatantly cheat just to get on the all-time score list. Sad.
The adventurers being unpredictable is the game. Use your brain to get them to do what you want by using the gold arrow bags and pathing you choose. And it only takes one adventurer to kill the dragon. The real challenge is getting to floor 15 early enough to finish the dragon by 25. So quit complainiing about what the game doesn't do and try to complete it with what it does or move on.
I can see having a rogue first but creating new games over till you get a rogue is basically bypassing one of the challenges of the game. Being able to do well adapting to what you start with is part of the challenge (and the fun to me).
set two records for me in 50+games 7levels in 9 days; 15levels in 21 days; had a chance to finish on day 22 but level 15 wasn't set right yet so it ended up being on day 23 (ties my best..done it twice now). don't see how anyone does it less than 20 beings that was a very lucky run to do that.
To all those finding the game confusing: You make a path from enter to exit on each floor as you earn enough gold to buy the floor. The directional gold bags on the right are just used to guide the loopy adventurers and allow them to enter a new level. Other than that it basically comes down to luck and the path you laid out. It only really takes one adventurer to win and some are more surivable than others. The thief is good because he doesn't take trap damage (you can also make your path avoid traps). The paladin is good because he harder to hit. Even the weakest adventurer(damagewise) can beat the dragon if he can survive long enough so make the 15th level to allow them to detour alot to avoid fighting till they rebuild their health and give the dodge skills, healing skills ect. Mostly just play and have fun and don't be so concerned over the 'hard' badge.
I find the game very addictive and I just need to keep trying to get 25 or less even though I've done it a couple times. It's a cursed game! I tell ya!
Come on! Be honest! :) You may have beaten it in 18-25 days (I have my doubts about 18ish) but post how many tries it took as well. And does anyone make these dungeons with dungeon crawling in mind? Since what works for parties over many days might be totally different in what works with 1. This is a fun thing and the fun is in what it take too win not all these "easy peasy comments". I've only got platinum twice out of many tries but the fun is in the trying. note: if some are using some kind of trick to do it keep it too yourself. :)
The more I play it the more amazed I am at how well balanced it is. Here are a few tips: 1 pay attention to what the guy tells you in the chat bubbles. 2 In the beginning dont worry too much if you have to run several days just to build up cash to open the next floors. 3 Stopping a run with several wounded adventurers can be very profitable . 4 each class has a bonus so keep that in mind when you give them equipment. 5. The shop overwrites existing items when full so you might lose that key item if you don't pay attention. 6 If you need help quick and don't have enough higher level fighters go back and adjust the dungeon to help them along. 7 The fulll health items don't always work and its not just on the dragon so you have to play attention. 8. Damage per centage items are usually better than having damage plus items 9 Adventurers won't enter a level more than 2 levels higher than them or a level without any gold directional bags. Just a few tips for those having problems.
Good game and quite different than the usual stuff on kongregate. I really got into the game at first as I love games where you can design content for others to play but the more I got into it I began to realize how flawed the concept really is.
First, most of the dungeons end up looking alike since all you can really do is choose the path and add directional arrows with the gold bags. And, as far as I've been able to figure out, you can only dungeon crawl through others dungeons so this really falls fairly flat as a concept.
I'd like to have more control over the dungeon design and be allowed to experience dungeons by others with a party of adventurers. I could go on for ever but I won't. Still, a good game and quite a change from what I find. The developer should be proud. :)
2nd comment. I think the game will be replayable and still enjoyable. It's not really a game to be beaten as much as it's an experience. Deceptively simple game where you design a dungeon to help your adventurers without making it too easy for them. Most unique idea I've seen in a long time and I'm an ancient dungeon crawler type myself.
Very creative and unique game with some pretty well designed balancing ideas. Easy to play but challenging too. Perfect game design needing no tweaks. It will be a game some love and some will claim it's too easy. Song the end is very cute.
