Level 4 bug. if you walk onto the jump buttons that shoot you upward you get can run into the ceiling and get stuck. Nice design of the game levels from what I was able to play though. I do find it strange that u spent so much time developing the levels but didnt create a unique character but instead used the default character from stencyl. Also i agree with the other comments in regards to delegating the jump command to the space bar instead of the up arrow. Overall nice job, you have figured out more things in stencyl than i have so far.
Thanks for the heads up on the level 4 bug. Thought I had fixed all the places you could get stuck but apparently I missed one. This game was like a sandbox for me where I just did a whole bunch of things to see if I could get them to work. It's not very polished but I'm working on a new one that will hopefully be better. Thanks for the comments. Do you post on the stencyl board at all? I haven't been there in a while due to the holidays and whatnot but they have some good people there that like to help out if you're stuck on anything.
Yet another great tutorial. I used this tutorial to add a start page and kong api to my own stencyl game. The only thing I would recommend would be to show that for the kong api you also have to check mark the box to have the stat show on the leaderboard. It took me a long time to figure out that was the main reason why my stats werent showing up. Thank you for another great tutorial. I read it several times today and found it extremely useful. Keep up the good work. I also like how you use stencyl to make a tutorial about stencyl. It just showcases the usefullness of the program even further.
Aye, you are correct... I should have added that extra step (and then don't forget to put down a name for it else it becomes a blank line)... if I ever get around to updating the tutorial, I will be sure to include that.
Best stencyl works tutorial I've seen so far. I like that you actually get a finished product and the steps are not overly confindent. Its also the first avoider game I've ever played. Thank you for your time and efforts.
Thank you :). One of the goals I have in making these is to show users how to start with something basic that is playable and continue to expand on it until it becomes more of a normal, higher-quality game.
