Without a background, I just don't get that "saving the Earth" feel. Also, health packs are few in number. But you do feel like a boss going around with all of these crazy missles, shockwaves, and lasers, so I'll give this game a 4/5.
While I had just a couple of problems with the mouse only controls, it seemed to work pretty smoothly. Thanks for not forgetting about the casual audience. I like to relax with games like these. 4/5
I have never had my thirst for speed, destruction, and art satisfied all at once. There were a couple of things that kept it from being pefect, however. The game is just too short, and the number of pick ups is too small. Maybe, if you make another game like this, you should think a little more outside the box for the pickups. But this is still a great game! 4/5!
Strategy for lv 13: Strafe around it and keep shooting. If a fast enemy is spawned, kill it before going for the base again. I had some trouble with this level on my first time, too. I beat it with plenty of upgrades to my bullet damage, armour, and health. It won't be a bad idea to keep your character balanced in terms of stats throughout the game.
Strategy: Rush the enemy base at the start of the level so you don't have to deal with the annoying sonic wanna-bes.
Strategy 2: Protect your teammates and destroy a tough enemy everytime you see one.
Strategy 3: NO MERCY!
@ vaen: Your health has to be depleted to a point before it starts to replenish.
Good game, great storyline, good battle system, a few problems with the level design, but otherwise is great. I liked the way how you made great use of the bird to get through the levels.
Most epic combo... ever. Period.
It's actually not difficult at all, and watching shells fly across the screen is awesome. Shows that all games don't have to be challenging. 4/5
I like the creative way of making this game look like a notebook, but the enimies have too much health, and the upgrades are outrageously expensive. But, you do have some enemy variety, and 1 or 2 unique weapons, so 4/5
3/5
This game had a LOT of enimies, which I like. However, it felt like I was shooting the same guy over and over. The boss fights might have looked diffrent, but didn't really have any new attacks. I completed it fairly quickly with little difficulty, with one more achivement left to go at the time of posting. As for design, I like how it was compared to the western U.S., but when I play something with aliens, I just expect some hi- tech guns instead of simple looking pistols.
So maybe next time the game needs more achievements, levels, and enemies; not just a remake of an old ememy I fought 8 levels ago.
