I really love the game, it's quite addicting. I just wish, and maybe it would ruin the game if it came true, that the chance of shops selling crystals and stones was higher. I have all this money and absolutely nothing to spend it on. I have 50 all together in my drop rate, yet I barely get any stones. I just feel like I spend more time grinding on the game than actually enjoying the fruits of the grinding. That can be said about every game, but I hate that aspect in every game. Other than that, it's a rock solid game well worthy of badges.
I would rather drop 60 dollars on this game -once- and be done with it. It's a great game, and for the hours I can invest into it, it is worth spending money on. However, I can't stand it when companies try to treat me like some silly little whore always wanting more money from me. When I have to spend money to even -play- the game it's just... it's so annoying. I have to buy virtue to be able to keep playing, I have to buy this and that to do this and that and to be any good I need to drop 100 dollars. Seriously? I'd rather give you guys a monthly subscription.
It's a nice game, but you really need to work on collision detection and the like. I can't tell you just how annoying it is trying to jump up toward something when I'm just a teeny bit too close to the edge of it and the game decides no, you can't do that and I have to then invest a minute of my time prancing around wildly like a lost unicorn until I'm able to jump the ledge. I would also suggest a better control scheme, and for the ability to actually -do- combos on your own as opposed to holding a key down, it feels more interactive that way. And more shortcut keys for menus, unless I'm just blind and missed them.
I really like the concept. I've been on an idle game binge for the last few days, and I've tried a ton out. In particular, I've been playing most of yours. Namely, Weird Idle PRO and the other Weird Idle titles. All this game really is missing is just the same animation and finesse you put into the other titles. For me, Idle games fulfill the upgrade whore part of me. I just love to constantly upgrade, see a higher return. I think if some of the mechanics were more detailed, and I had an inventory screen, and I could see my Pimp, dress my Pimp in Pimp clothes, you could sky rocket the game score from 2.whatever to 4.
Regardless of these complaints, the game is still a 4/5 for me. It absorbed a good 12 hours of my life and that was impressive. It's just a shame I've hit a point where I'm not having fun anymore. But the 12 hours I did spend were a blast. I was completely addicted. I loved the battle system, albeit flawed as it is. Great job, guys. Sorry I had to take up 3 comment slots.
And try to the fix balance because battles range from (Even in Carthage still) to pitifully easy to "OH MY GOD WHAT THE HECK?!" especially in battles with what I've nicknamed 'Ultimate Defense' shields. If they turn block on with counter attack, I've pretty much lost.
And give a wider range of goals with more offering me metals. There are 24 inventory slots total with all three party members to fill. Even in a perfect world and I obtained a piece of armor I use with every metal purchased through kongregates kreds, I'm still significantly over paying. As a player, I eventually want to reach a point where I have what I can consider the best gear, but I don't want to feel like I need to pay you 120 dollars to give me it.
Note - This starts off negative, but I do have some compliments. I loved this game, but I really stress the past tense in this. By the time I've hit Carthage the game has just become mind numbingly boring through the grind. Leveling has become a chore, and the -small- rewards I get from it barely justify the amount of time dedicated to getting there. Now, while I completely understand the metals idea for money to gain a revenue stream and reimburse every one who worked on it, this should not become such a heavy part of the game. Nothing in the shops ever compare to what the metals can make. Never. I'd even be okay if they costed 20k (As I have like 120k just sitting with me since upgrades are so few.) I think this game has a metric ton of potential. It's swords and sandals taken by a much better game producer, but it still isn't quite there yet. Give me less grind, or at least make the grind feel easier.
