two problems with this game: first, on timed levels each wave is keyed to the destruction of the previous wave, so those levels can be beaten by just circling a single enemy indefinitely, they should spawn regularly instead. second, you are hurt instantly when an enemy spawns in the same location as you, no time to get out of the way, and that's ludicrously unfair, I've gone from flawless rounds to dead in seconds from this. The good news is, this is otherwise an awesome game.
why does this thing get badges and front-page status when other, great, higher rated games with more content do not? Kongregate is pushing down the unique developers in favor of their favorites! It's nepotism I tell you!
There needs, needs, needs to be a way to decide ties. So many times i'm in a fight where both of our assault units are used up, and it just ticks through turns doing nothing forever. This is a silly way to handle it.
Am I the only one encountering tons of glitches? Projectiles fired through solid walls? Enemies who, for no reason, decide not to move? Enemies who are un-targetable? This, combined with the abjectly slow pace of the game, the lack of variety in character moves, the lack of interesting enemies... I honestly don't know why this has badges while other, fun games do not.
I do not like the 'humor' in this game, the whole smarmy mindset (they 'tend' to kill you, ooh look what I did there) A lot of the time that humor relies on the game actually being hard, which it, well, is not. Sure, the platforming is tricky, at least the button pressing stuff, but it was all mindless. Here's a hint: if you need 'timing', that timing is to go through the jumps as fast as possible, and then hang out in a safe zone until you feel like the next bit. Good games make you think about where to jump and then attempt to execute it, rather than herding you through the motions. This one was just boring by the end. Decent execution though (not like you can mess it up with so little going on). 3/5
Can I ask why you can't turn off the 'locks zap people' option? It makes pacifist victory much more difficult, for no reason! The 'lights zap people' thing is toggled, why not this one?
This game is sooo unforgiving. Your score from a streak of ~20 notes will be canceled by missing two. Also, why don't the visual notes line up with the musical notes? That should be priority one in making a game like this.
I really don't like the way the ball slows down. It isn't natural at all (unless it's a sticky ball? but I see no evidence of that) But most damningly, it means i never, ever know if a solution will work until I roll the ball and see if it goes far enough. I was stuck for ages on lvl 22, because I didn't realize that two shallow ramps add more speed than one steep ramp. How does that make any sense??
Why am I playing the same exact scenario over and over? Just so I can get slightly further this time before the game says: "You win, now go to the next level and redo everything you just did, plus a few more button presses at the end." Ludicrous.
Is it me, or is the only difference between difficulties the length of the sighting line? Because I went down from hard to easy to beat a level and it was exactly as hard as before.
This may be one of the best gaming experiences I've had in a long time. This game really challenges you to think fast. And at the same time it's so simple and elegant. The next time I want a real mental workout I'm coming straight back here.
GODDAMN! Why can't right/left simple go clockwise/counterclockwise? Why must it switch half way around a planet?
Other than that it's a pretty solid game.
The actual gameplay is slow, unresponsive, and dull. The so-called 'puzzles' are really all the same thing: press a button and watch how super-cool this physics engine is! This fails as a platformer, and as a game.
Not a very good game. The lack of control in combat makes it uninteresting, plus since you can't split up troops that little control is also fairly pointless (comes down essentially to switching weapons on occasion, which has minimal effect). More importantly, this game is way, way too easy. I noticed no real effect to having different regions except deciding to avoid them if they were on alert. Frankly, all the buttons and whistles in this game are just that (unnecessary and worthless). After watching the few cutscenes I was pretty much just bored. 2/5
I will ask the Coder. thanks
