It would be nice if achievements were for "x shots or less", instead of just "x shots". It was weird not getting the achievement when I completed level 16 in one shot instead of two.
Just finished the game.
Honestly, most of the challenge seemed to come from struggling with the wonky controls. Sorry, but that's not a good source of challenge for a platformer.
A few recommendations:
1) Give the line a "head", so that you can see where you are
2) Make the lines from the checkpoints grey instead of black, so that you don't get confused. When I first hit one, I thought it was a trap to prevent you from knowing which line was yours.
3) Seriously, work on the controls. One recommendation: Change the pointer to a crosshair (i.e., marking the "designated target"). Then have the game mark the "actual target" (same x-axis mark as the pointer, but the actual y-axis point that the line will pass through).
Please add a quick reset button.
The later level become nearly impossible if the guards and target walk in a bad direction. I'd prefer to quickly reset than have to suicide each time.
Not nearly as good as the original.
The difficulty curve is much more annoying (you need to be at least Level 15 to get gold on any map past map #5, requiring an annoying level of grind).
Also, you need a stupid amount of luck to get gold on the last map.
Sorry, but this just demonstrates sloppy level design. The original was a 5/5, but this is a 3/5 at best.
Started off fun, but the laser levels quickly transition from "challenging" to "cheap". Sorry, but it's 3/5 until it's easier to tell when a laser is about to become "live".
Excellent game! So far, this is the only puzzle game on my favorites list. I especially like the level creator - very easy to use (shameless self plug - try the "Blue n' Grey" level).
BUG: There appears to be a problem when you attempt to pull a spell from a hotkey slot to the inventory. The graphic will move, but the spell slot will not be reassigned. Thus, you cannot add a new spell to the hotkey slot, and if you press the hotkey button, it still will activate the original spell.
The only way around this seems to be to only pick up spells that you intend to use, and ignore all others. Attempting to move any spell between inventory and the hotkey slots will cause this error.
Nice stage, JP :)
