Can anyone help me out? I'm confused how to gain access to more spells. I have 3 points on fire tornado and avalanche but I can only seem to cast the tidal wave as my special attack. What am i missing?
Love this game. Easy 5/5.
Small request: Could some of the rewards for the clovers be tied to a percentage of current stats? Eventually they become pretty meaningless amounts because they are so small compared to what my stats are. I think the experience orbs might already be like this?
[BUG] The red priestesses and healers aren't healing my soldiers in the base. They try to, but it has no affect- it takes ages now for me to heal between raids.
Not sure if this is deliberate or not- but each time i play now, the game starts me with my saved larva, then spawns a whole bunch more. I think i've got approx 80-100 larva currently. Now whenever I call a wave above 30, shockwave crashes.
This should not happen anymore, however in your case in order to come back under the max population you still have to choose which larvae you want to keep and let the other die or get killed.
2/2 - The purple guys in the waves could be made to be a much more thrilling challenge. Maybe have them randomly appear from different sides of the map? And maybe program them to target nests and the queen (if they kill the queen, all units are immediately lost, but not progress so they will all respawn)
I did not thought that some people would breed so huge larvae, I should indeed have a look about their sizes. I shall modify the collision zone for them, and even reduce the sprite size a bit too.
I will soon start to work on levels, so I am not sure that I will spend time on space upgrade, see this version as a beta for the next to come (still a lot of work to do, though).
I hope the sequel to be as better as this version is from the prototype larvaEvo (which was awful).
1/2 Played again today and I can see/feel heaps of improvement! Im quite enjoying it. The larva seem to 'go after' things a bit more, and I like the specials. More suggestions:
- Once you have 15+ larva at full size the whole game is one big grid lock. Using pheremones is close to useless and so strategy in terms of encouraging your larva in particular areas becomes nil. 3 thoughts- One is to halve the size of all the larva from what they are now, particualrly the 2 largest sizes. Two is to make the 'actual area' that a larva takes up be much smaller than the representation of the picture of the larva itself- this should help traffic move more fluently between them. Three is to create an option to buy more space, so that your area grows as you get more larva etc.
Anyway food for thought.
Just came back again today to play. Some suggestions:
1. Have the top left section cordoned off as a sort of nursery. The idea being that newly born larva will feed there initially (by planting bushes). Once they are a certain size they then exit the nursery. This would also stop the annoying thing of massive larva eating all the bushes near the queen because they wouldn't be able to re-enter the nursery.
2. Have options of what sort of larva they become once they grow a certain size (eg, when they exit nursery if going with above idea). The player chooses between a) Gatherer (bonus on getting food) b) fighter (bonus on fighting) . There are maybe other types you could come up with.
Hope this helps :)
About nursery, I am thinking about the ability to build a kind of wall from the shop. WOuld that do the trick ?
About fighters and gatherers this was actually planned for lv3 larvae (and partially implemented), and I am still thinking about it.
Ok thank you !
Let's hope that the latest and future optimizations will allow to a quite a far end game. If I remember well the max number of larvae is 30 (but you can keep on upgrading them as long as you want and there are several evolutions).
Is it rather high-end computer, or old laptop ? or something between ?
I've done some optomizations, I hope it would run a little smoother.
I'll keep on optimizing as much as I can, but I do not have much control over Stencyl physic mechanics (or I should write my own).
Yeah I've tried to click as quick as possible. Even just tapping my mouse pad. I think it might have something to do with the game slowing down once theres about 10 larvae. It seems to chew a fair amount of CPU
Just another thing. Now that ive been playing for a while, things i buy in the shop get auto planted/deployed. Which makes using pheremones impossible because they just get used immediately where the mouse is to buy them. I reckon this game has huge potential so please dont take this feedback the wrong way :)
I like the concept but im confused on some things. There is a purple bug wandering around that none of my guys seems to want to eat. Sending a wave (wave 1) doesnt appear to do anything. And my guys seem to just die without really looking for food. I get that I'm meant to attract them with the pheremones but if thats the case it would be good having hot keys.
This should not happen anymore, however in your case in order to come back under the max population you still have to choose which larvae you want to keep and let the other die or get killed.
