If you're colourblind then red will appear close to black and other colours will appear mid-gray. This game would get orders of magnitude more difficult if you're colourblind.
I can't believe I'm doing this. For the dog, start by going north (the only option), then go north, west, south, west, and then east. You will find the dog.
TheMysteryOfPi: Right click, go to settings, go to the storage tab, and set it to something above zero. I have it set to 10MB because, well, that's more than what Kongregate would ever need.
