If you watch the instructions, evilbob, it shows that when you hover the mouse over the turret, the game pauses... caught me off gaurd once or twice myself.
well, I finally earned the easy badge, lol... after having beaten the game on hard 4 times (still dont have the medium badge to show for it). Clever game, but becuase of bug, only 3/5 in my playbook...
For some reason I earned the hard badge after dying on the first level (my mouse wasn't working right). I earned the card with no problem, so I can't back up the whole no card problem. Oh, just in case some people missed it, there is a save feature for the scenarios. I recommend using it.
Missiles seem entirely pointless. Moreover, the strenght on the missles can be increased beyond 3 (at four it still works, at 5 and beyond it doesn't fire). The energy for the shots can be increased beyond the stated maximum. Advancing the power of the shots beyond 6 is pointless, as at 6 only one enemy requires more than 1 hit, and that enemy still takes 2 hits with level 8 shots.
The scoring system is unique in that the penalty for random firing affects the total score, not a score for the level, which seems good in that it discourages simply holding down the space bar but strikes me as being the product of laziness. As was also pointed out, the percentage sign is missing from the accuracy penalty screen, which has doubtlessly confused a select number of people, and irritated quite a few more (7500 * 95 does not equal 7125. 7500 * .95 (or 95%) does).
Understandibly, it is a demo, but given that it is posted on the site, it doesn't deserve more than 1 star.
I found the game to be good overall (the 4th challenge was tough, but it is doable with some luck), but I agree with madtony, the lack of an end round option is irritating.
very poor overall when compared to other games of the same genre... and whats with the large scores for individual kills (I'm dyslexic and can't read strings of 0s with any accuracy). Why not just have a kill be worth 1 point?
you know evilnme, if you really dont like the music, you can do what I do and mute the computer... I'm sure you have some other way of listening to music.
well, in any case, i beat the nightmare level, and its not to bad...
the collisions are sometimes a little akward. more than once ive had the wheel bounce directly back the way it came, even though it didn't hit the surface at 90 degrees.
I like how in the high-scores table, there is an opton (HighScore-Normal1) which shows the high scores of the people who didn't beat the level. Given that my score of 4900 is the highest one can get without beating the game, I think I've got the top spot there.
