You forgot to put a limit on the velocity of the shots, which was originally capped at 360, I believe. The game doesn't actually check, whether the banana's path is obstructed, but rather teleports the banana according to x and y velocity and checks whether it's new position is inside the building. Now me and my friends are stuck trying to railgun each other to death by throwing projectiles like Angle 4, Velocity 2612.
The true hero of this game is the repair guy, for he came up with the idea of a slammer, which not only defied all laws of physics, but also crushed the entire national guard.
I think it is ok to demonize the nazis in the game, but certainly no german soldier could take 5 hits that splattered his blood across the ground, lie down, get up again, run past my lines and then, 5 minutes LATER, signal for an artillery strike.
The moment the USA realizes it has lost the fight, because you can clear the sky with a single rocket and twenty million secondary explosions because they went overboard, priceless.
Just a message to all the new players out there.
You WILL get mad. You will lead by several thousand
points and the computer will, whenever it is behind,
throw a few consecutive 1500 pointers or try its luck with
the last two dice and get away with it.
The AI in this game is actually much worse at taking a loss than most players.
This whole game (especially the ending) subtly reminds me of Mass Effect for some reason. I like Solarmax a lot. Thanks for listinening to your playerbase, not a lot of people do that.
As for the last level on hard difficulty, rally 250+ ships and go all or nothing onto their base (imagine an epic cinematic fight for the survival of all life at this point).
Hint for 36 on Hard : Grab the Portal, defend the 2 attacked planets, grab 1-2 planets yourself, gather all your ships (must be 250-300+) and go all in onto the ... what's the name of the gyroscope thingy? Crucible? The ending implies such.
Also, after beating the game I had this feeling I was responsible for the black player's existence and beat the game with the first (neutral) gyroscope on hard without taking it. I would love to actually not have to play against the black ships, now that I decided not to open Pandora's Chest.
Protips :
1.Try to beat the game with the normal character, you will get used to playing with it and the levels are designed in a way that allow for easiest handling with it.
2. If the tunnel curls too fast, keep pressing the corresponding side key and do short jumps, this technique allows for much tighter curves than running.
3. It is easily possible to make a small jump sideways out of the tunnel.
The game will (95% of the time) let you do a barrel roll and also LIFT YOU. Press the other key again and you drift back into the track, where you have plenty of time to land. This lets you cross huge gaps, allows for an easy landing AND gives you a neat achievement, too.
4. The fast guy hates you. Don't play him.
The skater doesn't hate you, he just likes the sensation of moving fast.
