It's easy once you find out that cut is OP and stack 3 on one attack card ^^
Challenging at first, but if you play more defensively and make use of cards like " counterattack" it's definitely fair.

There is a bug that you get less fortune every ascend, or at least I hope it's a bug, otherwise it will get harder and harder to get fortune.

It's not a bug. You have slight diminishing returns with respect to the total amount of a type of currency you have, but you also get increasing returns as you push forward in levels, so they end up canceling each other out, and you shouldn't have trouble gaining more Fortune/etc as long as you progress a bit further each time.
