It is the intention of the license that people be able to make money off of the code. Free software is about sharing and mutual benefit.

If you read the text at the end it says "Free Harry Nicolaides" who if you wiki it apparently was jailed in Thailand for writing books that were deemed to "defame the Thai monarchy". Apparently he was indeed pardoned after 6 months in prison.
