This game is one of the best I have played from the Ludum Dare. Very fun and great art. Reminds me so much of EVO from Super NES, which was one of my favorite games. I would love to see this done as a full length game with all the bells and whistles.
I like this game, it gives a bit of a throwback to old hardcore platformers. The pinpoint jumping is awesome. For those of you that think this game is bogged down by the jumping mechanic. Think of it this way, there are no bad guys to fight, no cliffs to fall from, no real perils to threaten you. The difficulty of the game, has to be focused on the jumping, and the precision derived from this.
Here is a tip for some of you guys who are stuck at the 31/32 point. When you jump, don't have to always jump with all your force to get the maximum peak. There are some jump points where a half jump works out, and in one instance is necessary, some of the time.
Me:
Alright I will break it down to a mathematical equation.
God:
Alright, . Do you think your plan will succeed?
Me:
Consider Barber X what X will satisfy. The condition shaving, all Men Y. Such that Y does not shave Y. Prove you're Barber X.
God:
When do you think artificial intelligence will replace lawyers? Who told you that?
I tried to destroy the program with a paradox...it didn't work out the way I planned.
Me:
Suppose there is a town with just one male barber; and that every man in the town keeps himself clean-shaven:some by shaving themselves, some by attending the barber. It seems reasonable to imagine that the barber obeys the following rule: He shaves all and only those men in town who do not shave themselves. So, Does the barber shave himself?
God:
Try it and see. " Try it and see." every man in the town keeps himself clean shaven some by shaving themselves some by attending the barber ? Does that make sense? I agree. All? Tell me more. I can't tell if the barber shave himself.
You should add something to make the cat a bit more squishier to squeeze through things. On level 8, the Cat got stuck on the side railings because he was too fat.
I wonder if people who re-post games, think they will get away with it...I mean most people who play these free online games, usually pay attention to developers. Also they remember games that are well made. Also the description and the Instructions are riddled with words that are not spelled correctly..
Yea like most people, since the quotes where so long I just did all the vowels, then 'RST' and from there it was cake. Most of the quotes where easy enough because of their length. Nice Quotes though don't get me wrong.
@Masclins Really if you look at the timer bar on the bottem, you will notice it going back up if you hit the key, so if the same key appears twice the timer bar will become full once more. Doesn't need to really be fixed, just need to pay attention a bit.
A very nice Interactive Art game. A refreshing escape from the constant shoot/fight/strategize that are in most games. Along with a nice little story there, with some morale choices thrown in there.
You should really just work on alot of things, the whole holding a button a certain way on a moving platform is a bit crude, and makes some of the platforming a bit more challenging then it should be. Also your springs, you can't jump on them, so the coins you put above them are basically useless, because as soon as you touch it, it just teleports you to the top. Also too many glitches to make it remotely fun. I am willing to ignore the crude graphics as well. The music is nice, but after the 50th time of the same 10-20 second loop..it gets old...
So...the developer should really learn about foreground placement, because with platforming games they can get in the way of crucial items...such as a freaking water pit that kills you and you never saw it because the stupid foreground graphics got in the way. I felt like I was playing classic platforming games, where this kind of thing happened...I thought that perhaps we had moved past this easily correctable, and for seeable mistake...I geuss not..
Yea I am in agreement with everyone else, the whole Demo thing was a bit saddening. I mean the whole point of Kong, is for free games...not really the place for one of those 'free' games where you have to pay for the good stuff...
Despite the stolen remarks...perhaps one should change how the ball stays with the momentum that was from the previous level on the next level so you don't die...just a suggestion..
I wouldn't say its fun...but it is a good start I guess, just add in some more stuff to flesh out the actual game part. Perhaps an upgrade menu and such, to give the game something to work for. Or perhaps change the in level upgrades...
