Normally not a fan of bullet hells, but found this to be a blast cus of its simplicity (and auto-fire, thank God for auto-fire). No need for fancy cartoon characters, etc., just you and the enemy. Meanwhile, I feel like some sort of point differentiation based on the "difficulty" of the enemy (perhaps based on how many bullets it can fire at one time?) would have felt more rewarding, although at the same tine, I can see how not differentiating is part of the game design's natural progression in difficulty because no matter how powerful the enemy is (nor how numerous), we still only get 10 points per kill. Or maybe this is the intent of the developer, to teach us that no matter what color we are nor what kind of bullets we fire, we are all worth the same on the inside...whoa, just blew my own mind there, thanks for the philosophy lesson.
I like the levels where I can shoot the skull right at the portal so that I complete the level as soon as I teleport to the skull :D. It's like challenging myself to finish the level in as few moves as possible :D.
It's uncanny, but one of the best parts of this game is that I can actually feel myself become a better gamer. As I play, it trains me to be more precise in my movements and more patient instead of my usual panic-mash-all-the-buttons play style :D.
I completed the game as the badge asks for, but I'm only on Level 7, so it won't award me the badge since the badge also has a progress bar that shows I have to reach Level 9. I see no way to restart the game or do a new game + sort of thing, so I have no idea how to increase my level in order to get the badge :(.
Also, perhaps it's too early to pass judgment as a Warrior who's only at Level 16, but it seems to me that it's not "worth it" to spend mats on upgrading Armorsmithing? I barely have enough mats to upgrade Weaponcrafting and it actually works out perfectly at 20% gathering that I am at the right level to craft and equip the weapon of that level. But this means that I am not left with enough mats to upgrade Armorsmithing, but it doesn't matter anyway because I am always either levels ahead the previous armor, or levels below the best armor. Anyone have any thoughts/suggestions? (Also, I'm of the theory that 20% is the best level for gathering because questing faster is more important than gathering more, but mayhaps I'm wrong? Anyone tested the actual gathering v. questing speeds?)
This had probably been mentioned in the instructions somewhere and maybe the tutorial and maybe some comment somewhere, but did you know that if you have too much time on your hands and really want to move things along, you can click the monsters to help slay them?
Perhaps this is just me and my poor eye-hand-coordination, but I suggest you use the keyboard for one move and clicking for another move, e.g., click to jump, space to switch. Not sure if this is true for everyone, but it definitely made things easier for me.
I feel like my fingers are playing DDR, especially during that flame + spiky ball track sequence. Thank God for that checkpoint. I kept messing up on purpose to play along with the music (not really :D).
Just a couple of tiny non-Easter-egg-Easter-eggs: 1) If you find five Atsuguki without giving the maple fertilizer to the foresters, you get to keep the fertilizer :). 2) If you try to use the Return Wand while doing the flower puzzle, Maoti will refuse.
