Normal mode was very easy, so I skipped up to Harder. Hell, that was a challenge. Took me like 7 cities to get the place past that tipping point where victory is assured. I'm attempting Nightmare mode now, and I must say, it's a lot of luck. Great game, though!
Good game, should have badges. I just finished it; collected all the blue bears, too. I was expecting more for it, though, like maybe a bonus level or two. That last one was surprisingly easy. Still, 5/5 for originality and entertainment.
Maybe it's just me, but it seems so unbalanced. Some of the creatures are way too powerful, and once they're summoned, it's essentially game over. Maybe if I was allowed to choose what I took into battle, I could actually work on some strategy, but evey decent strantegy I come up with always gets shot down by some crazy card that the opponent played for only 8 poiints. Archangel? Ancient horror?
As far as recommendations, allow a player to unsummon a creature somehow. There's no counter to the wall of reflection. I was about to win, then the guy throws one up. I figure I can maybe still win if I take him out quick, so I throw in a pheonix, and BAM: another wall of reflection. I desperately hoped acid rain might work, but that became an instant 30 damage to me. Not fair, not balanced, not fun.
Did anyone else notice that you can use the explosion from one projectile to cause another to fly off on a new trajectory? I had some fun attempting to kill things (including myself) like that. :)
Regarding the gameplay:
1. As has been mentioned before, the game flows slowly, so a speed control would be nice.
2. It does bother me that we can't sell or even delete turrets. Since I also feel that the engineer needs at least one more advantage to make him more appealing, I'd suggest having the ability to sell turrets be an upgrade for him (or even better: let everyone sell, but the engineer can "dismantle" and relocate turrets).
As for strategy, I found that I really liked Venom turrets on a couple of the Garden levels, but the fact that they always seem to miss several enemies bothered me. A good balance is to put a venom, followed by two rockets. Rinse and repeat.
Simple puzzle game, including that last level everyone seems to be complaining about. I enjoyed it. Sometimes I found what I suspect were intentional shortcuts, which were nice. Thanks for the entertainment.
Renowned Tutor of Magic, Tier 5, 73581? Bull! His combat was higher. 100 combat atk/def/repute, 100 magic def/repute with 99.4 magic atk, 100 fame, 100 sin, 100 morals, 86.2 temperament... and tier 5 is all he gets? I wonder what the mechanism is.
Side note: not a day of work.
