"Sir, I've developed bullets that can be manipulated after being fired. And they explode heads on any kind of headshot." "And the downsides?" "Well, they drop extremely fast. Impossibly so." "What else do you have?" "I've got these grenades that only destroy heads and arms. Even if the target is standing on them." "..."
Something tells me the loading screen at the start is slow BECAUSE of how the 'hey don't worry the game is still loading' junk. Like they did it as a cutscene, instead of as a loader.
It seems the ranged upgrade for the archer is a 'make this character worse' option, since the archer decides to run away so that he reaches the FULL length of said range. Even if the enemy is right there. Especially bad if the random die decides the next target should be anywhere, really. Ironically a 'better' targeting system would probably make the archer suck even more, since presumably it would prioritize nearby targets, making the archer run around like a headless chicken trying to get away from the enemies that he could kill in two shots, taking way more damage than he would if he just stood still.
It kind of stinks when you essentially only have ONE slot for quests. My first slot says 'No new quests available', but my second slot keeps filling with quests that can't be autocompleted because they involve things like 'collect x amount of things', even if I've already gotten ten times that amount just to GET to that quest. Third slot just taunts me with "Hey, do the thing that you can't do because you haven't done enough quests!". So I have to do the quest, then wait until I can register it as 'done'. Then get a new quest that I've already done a ton of.
Many deaths on 59 because I can't tell which direction I'm facing. If I let go, and it turns out I guessed wrong, I end up dying. 'Good' job on making the text in the level kill you.
"only the nearest magnetizers will work" Huh. For some reason it doesn't seem to 'switch' the magnetizers when my mouse is closer to one of them. For instance, sometimes I can move my mouse almost on top of one, but it insists on staying on the previous closest one.
Man, however the 'you've gone over the limit' is determined, it's not working right. I assume because the game has a delay in matching, it has to wait until the matches are made. But that just lets you break it by not waiting for the match checking to finish, and get six TIMES OVER the limit. I'm not joking. On the downside, the missed shot penalty seems to not take into account that the match takes time. Or arbitarily decides what counts as a 'missed shot'. And apparently only spawns in the new balls AS YOU'RE SHOOTING THE NEXT BALL. So you miss a shot because of it.
Take the gameboy zelda graphics. Add in some graphics in the same style. Green octoroks=green slimes, blue gels=blue slimes. Make everything take tons hits to kill, add in a stat system that seems balanced to have more stats per level than you get. Make common zelda items require you to find them, then put a stat point in to actually use them. And make the xp system force you to grind on either enemies that you can one shot for little xp, or enemies that take TONS of hits for just a bit more. And have the next level keep requiring more and more xp just so you can get 1-2 more damage per level. So that you're better off grinding money and buying the best weapon you can, so that you can one or two shot the big tough enemies. And then find out that the next area enemies take tons of hits even WITH your new weapon. Oh and have quests that give bad weapons, ones that you need something better than the reward to actually beat in a short time. You get this game.
Learning to Glide is annoying, because it won't let you meteor strike once you're within a certain amount of the top of the screen, even if you haven't gotten the fireball. And if you meteor strike too close to the line between where you would actually do a hell raiser, the height the hell raiser would bring you to gets lowered to where you meteor striked. Overall the game is EXTREMELY grindy, with some of the challenges being outright impossible to get the highest reward until you've leveled up the challenge. And there isn't an 'overall challenge' level, so have fun grinding until you can actually beat the challenge.
Ohbye's tips on 'reaction landings' work, as long as you don't use space to jump. If you use space to jump, for some reason the game reads ALL the arrow keys as 'crush asteroid' if you're fast enough to do so. For that jump, at least.
It's a shame that there's all the 'face' memes. Frankly they're a tad overused at this point. Though I guess they sort of fit. Just kind of wish there was an 'alternative' for them. Don't really want to have to look at a troll face just to get better collision damage.
For those having trouble with the game, your bullets shoot the opposite direction you're going. Unless you hold the mouse button to strafe. The same goes with the death beam, though it seems to have a 'lag' to catch up with your movements, probably to prevent you from just wildly swinging it to destroy everything on screen.
It's a shame that the new system doesn't really allow team balancing. People can just join whichever side they want, so tons of people can join the side that already has more people on it.
Well, that was hilarious. I beat the normal mode, and then died right before I got the 'you escaped' screen. Even got the achievement. So I decided to beat hard mode, and figured out that because I 'died' before the end screen lost me the badge. At least, I think so.
It's amazing how the opponent cars know how to just barely be out of your clipping box, then sideswipe you as soon as they're far enough in 'front' of you to slow you down. It almost looks like they're clipping through you.
lol
