killing blow is overpowered because it can destroy the base...

It's easy upgrade weapons if you pass a level with 100+ remaining soul. When you enter next level you will have your souls, so you only have to upgrade something and then die. When you continue your game, you will start with the upgrade you bought... and the money too. Easy.
