Is it possible that you start of with different 'stats' each time?
I have been playing this game from time to time for years and just got defeated in the first mission for the first time - same towers and same position as always.
Additionally each game my towers seem to have different strength in the beginning and enemies drop coins and mana on a different rate.
Would be an interesting quirk *virtual thumbs up*

to be honest - took me a couple of hours - would be nice if you could save in between so you don't have to start over every time you come back home :) pretty nice anyway
